DIANA HUNT BORLAND

, As Managing Director at Sanderson Borland, Diana oversees all aspects of the practice. Diana brings with her a wealth of national and international experience having worked on a wide range of typology including retail, hospitality, residential and leisure usually all within complex, sensitive and historic contexts. Diana's proven track record is in delivering high end design solutions across a range of architectural briefs. She has particular skills in the residential market having designed and delivered award winning homes and spaces for a range of private clients. Diana is respected for her proficiency in creating a new sense of place and delivering enormous value from high quality design solutions. Diana adds value through the creative process and by maintaining high standards of integrity and co-operation. She is adept at building teams and encouraging creative thought through teamwork and design collaboration. At Sanderson Borland we take our corporate and social responsibility seriously. Diana leads her team to ensure all endeavours have a positive impact on society and the environment. It is at Diana's core to help communities. Diana promotes volunteering at the practice and is herself appointed at Seamab School, a charitable organisation based in rural central Scotland that provides specialised care and education to young children to help them realise their vision of a purpose built school. Diana is also an ambassador for and is collaborating with the international NGO Global Action Nepal to help guide them in realise their vision for their purpose built teacher training centre. Diana also organises our annual Alternative Burns Night Fundraiser which has to-date raised over £30,000 for our chosen charities which is now in its forth year. Diana's role is to maintain and grow the high quality design ethos at Sanderson Borland and to maintain and improve the brand to its wide client base. Hobbies: Diana loves to travel and is a keen artist and sportsperson - notably in swimming having represented Scotland at the Commonwealth Games and GB at the World Cup series.

JAMES SANDERSON

Throughout his career as an Architect and appointed Cathedral Architect, James has built up a wealth of experience working with private and public-sector clients; often securing funding and leading large project teams to deliver a range of architectural, interior and property development projects. Prior to forming Sanderson Borland, James was a Regional Partner at Purcell, one of the UK's largest architectural practices, where he was responsible for the management of the practice's northern offices; Edinburgh, Manchester and Liverpool. Additionally, James has been Cathedral Architect at Blackburn Cathedral since 2001. As well as overseeing the regular maintenance to the historic fabric of the Cathedral, this appointment has included the design and delivery of a £35m regeneration masterplan surrounding the Cathedral. As a result, James is regularly invited to speak at national conferences on major Cathedral development, sharing his experiences and skills. As Director at Sanderson Borland, James continues his involvement with Blackburn Cathedral as well as overseeing the running of the practice, managing projects that utilise his expertise in historic buildings. Hobbies: Outside of architecture James is a dedicated cyclist with a passion for cricket.
