Mr. Muhammad Shahid Qureshi

Mr. Muhammad Shahid Qureshi graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree in 1981 from NED University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi, Pakistan. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Transportation Engineering with a minor in Construction Management and graduated from University of Lincoln, Nebraska in 1987. He is a US Citizen, a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Maryland and Washington, D.C, and a certified Professional Traffic Operation Engineer (PTOE). He served as a Director of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Maryland Section from 2009 to 2011. Currently, he is serving as a member of the ACEC Political Action Committee since 2014. Mr. Qureshi is also involved with various socio-political organizations and is a member of Howard County Muslim Council (HCMC) and United Maryland Muslim Council (UMMC). He served as a chair of the Public Policy Committee on HCMC Board for a period of two years from 2006 to 2008 and participated in many events representing council. Currently, he is serving as a director of HCMC and UMMC. Mr. Qureshi was also nominated by the Howard County Chief Executive to serve as a member on the Howard County Public Works Board, Maryland (HC-PWB) for a period of four (4) years from 2011-15. He was also nominated by the Governor of Maryland to serve as a member of the Maryland Transportation Commission (MTC) for a period of three (3) years in 2010. He lives in Ellicott City with his wife and three lovely children, two girls and a boy.
