Aidan Booth

I am passionate in the work they do and wish to be a part of the ethos they have ingrained in their company. Aisling Bent

Job Titles:
  • Health and Wellbeing Coordinator
My role as the health and well-being coordinator is to guide the team to a healthier mindset. I have created a calming hub within the office where the staff can take some time out of their busy schedules and stresses, the calming hub provides a safe environment for some mindfulness and relaxation. I also work with the young people starting out on their journey into employment, I introduce them to the benefits of mindfulness, how to practice and in turn lead themselves into stronger beings.

Alexandra Fullerton

Before joining TIGERS in June 2017 I had been working as a Tennis Coach throughout Glasgow for 7 years as well as working as a camp counsellor at all girls camp in America. I graduated from University of West of Scotland in 2014 with a BA (Hons) Sport Development. I have always enjoyed helping people strive to meet their full potential no matter what the environment.

Alison Pollock

My TIGERS journey started in 2017 when I participated in the TIGERS Pre-Apprenticeship programme. Since progressing from there I have completed my Modern Apprenticeship and have gained an SCQF Level 6 in Business and Administration. Throughout my time in TIGERS I have gained a lot of valuable knowledge while continuously developing my own personal skills and building long lasting relationships with my colleagues through relationship-led practice and strong values.

I have been at TIGERS for 6 months now coming from the Construction industry as a Bricklayer which I was on the tools for 6/7 years and the oil and gas industry as an Offshore Cementer. Brian Carmichael

I am a former construction operative who entered training and development initially to help young people but since been ignited and now my passion lie's with innovative training delivery, lifelong learning and supporting people to develop their infinite potential. Another aspiration of mine is to see the style of leadership in the construction sector developed to include an authentic, compassionate and nurturing approach to meet the needs of current sector and societal changes.' Brian Carmichael is the Construction Director of TIGERS and leads a diverse team who deliver Pre-Apprenticeship training, Modern Apprenticeships and Professional Development programmes to prepare, up-skills and re-skill people for their career within the construction sector. Brian's experience of working of the construction sector ranges from construction building, civil engineering operations to laterally, the management of small-scale construction projects. Brian took this knowledge from the sector and used it to enhance the construction employability programmes at TIGERS before training to become an Assessor and Internal Verifier for a wide range of vocational and professional qualifications. Brian led the TIGERS & Carillion Training Joint Venture successfully through 2016-18, for which during this period the partnership had achieved the goal of producing 1000 Modern Apprentices over a span of 10 years. Within his current role as Construction Director, Brian has embraced the power of positive relationship's and leads through human leadership which has supported in developing a team who thrive under the vision and values of TIGERS and aim to inspire and support people to devlop their infinite potential.

Caitlin Forrest

TIGERS provided me the opportunity to enter the industry I am passionate about - Marketing. As an Undergraduate struggling to gain experience, TIGERS believed in my potential. I like the fact that TIGERS believe in the importance of connection, may that be online or offline, making each day exciting. Carly Waddell

Carly Waddell provided a speech at our Youth Conference in March 2019 during Apprenticeship Week, her pathway wasn't straight, obvious or traditional. Carly completed her Modern Apprenticeship Level 3 in Children's Care and Development in 2012 at TIGERS and now studying BSc Honours Degree in Podiatry at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Christopher Turner

My name is Chris, I am a construction trainer/assessor and I joined the TIGERS team in December just before lockdown. Predominantly from the Landscaping sector, I have used this a tool to give people of all ages and abilities essential work based skills to reduce personal barriers and improve their opportunities of employment. I have been involved in helping other for nearly 20 years and I am delighted to continue doing this under the TIGERS banner.

Clare Morgan

Clare Morgan has been Depute Head Teacher in Boclair Academy since January 2017. Prior to this Clare was a Principal Teacher of Guidance in the school from August 2007 following her promotion from acting Principal Teacher of Pastoral Care in Govan High School where she also worked as a Teacher of Physical Education. A former pupil of Cardinal Newman High School in Bellshill, Clare understands that career pathways for young women are not always straightforward and she has committed her working life to helping to ensure young men and women are well supported through school. Clare is passionate about ensuring all young people maximise their potential. Her commitment and drive have ensured hundreds of young people in her care have successfully moved onto positive destinations in their life beyond school. Her commitment to developing a wider achievement profile for all young people in Boclair Academy led to her pioneering work with the national charity Medics Against Violence. Clare introduced the Medics Against Violence Programme to Boclair Academy in 2013 and has been a driving force behind its success. Over this time the programme has developed into an Intern Programme where young people in S6 are trained as MAV Interns and provide peer mentoring and learning opportunities to pupils in younger years. Clare has also led training events for Health Care workers and teachers in other secondary schools who have engaged with Medics Against Violence. Clare is an inspiring role model to the young women in Boclair Academy and has personally benefitted from a mentoring approach to her own career. As part of the IWiL Programme she is committed to helping other women become successful in their working lives.

Colin MacKinnon

I enjoy creating applications and websites and watching them to come life along with training people to become fluent in different coding languages. Dana Boyle

Danny Steele

I worked in the construction industry for several years when I left school where I gained good knowledge and experience of groundworks. I have had a varied work history in steel works, engineering and quarry works. I also worked in manufacturing and many years in the care industry. For the last 8 years I have been an assessor/trainer in the construction industry delivering a variety of construction disciplines, including apprenticeships and supervision. I relish the opportunity to make a difference to the learners who come through TIGERS and help them to succeed.

Douglas Brown

Douglas Brown has been Head Teacher in Boclair Academy since August 2013 following promotion from his post of Depute Head Teacher in Hyndland Secondary School. Prior to this he was Principal Teacher of English in Lenzie Academy and Principal Teacher of English and Pastoral Care in Larbert High School. He has also worked as an Associate Assessor with Education Scotland for the last eleven years. Over the course of the last six years Douglas has created a relationship based approach to school leadership and improvement. Respect and Achievement are now core values within in the school, where young people and adults are empowered to lead. This child centred approach to school life has ensured a strong ethos of inclusion and the achievements and attainment of the school community have increased significantly over this time.

Graham Goulden

Job Titles:

For the last eight years of policing career he was a Chief Inspector and a key member of the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit. Respected across the world for its work in reducing violence, this innovative organisation brought a new approach to an age-old problem. It was during this time that Graham was able to put right what had become an occurring issue for him during his policing career. Often, when interviewing people who had witnessed abuse and violence, Graham was met with the words, "I knew something was going to happen". His work within the unit supported him to develop approaches and programmes that help create conditions where good people can do good things when faced with challenging situations. Graham is a passionate advocate of the bystander approach to help develop personal and organisational leadership to help create safe and supportive learning environments, workplaces and performance teams. All of these environments face challenges which, if unchecked, can impact detrimentally on performance and reputation. Empowering individuals within these settings to act, presents a great opportunity for any business, school, university or sports team to maintain focus on values and goals. As they say the team that collectively is heading in the same direction will be the successful team. Graham has delivered bystander prevention trainings in many different settings including high schools, colleges universities, in work places, in prisons, with military and police and with professional and amateur sports in the UK and United States. Graham has worked with many different individuals and groups using bystander activities to develop personal leadership. Graham has worked with hairdressers, dentists, vets, fire officers, police & prison officers, bar & security staff, the military as well as in local communities. In addition, Graham has conducted numerous trainings and keynote speeches in Scotland, England, Wales, Sweden, and in the United States. In addition to conducting bystander trainings, Graham has expert knowledge and experience in embedding violence prevention programmes within local government. He has been able to build sustainable models for the longer term. Graham holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice Studies and a Certificate in Training from Napier University, Edinburgh. He lives in the Scottish Borders with his wife Allie and their dachshund Dolly.

Iain Smith

Job Titles:

Iain specialises in Criminal Law, undertaking summary and solemn work in Livingston Sheriff and Justice of the Peace Courts as well as other courts across Scotland. He has been involved in a number of high profile High Court Trials. He also acts as a legal representative for a number of well known sports stars. He fights hard to protect people's rights and passionately defends his clients. His career as a solicitor started in 1993 and 5 years later he formed Keegan Smith with Jim Keegan QC. Iain is actively involved in the creating a fairer criminal justice system and is the leading trauma informed lawyer in Scotland. He is a core group member of West Lothian Adverse Childhood Experiences Hub and a Trustee of the charity Aid & Abet, who try to assist people get out of the cycle of offending. Iain is also boldly asking all judges in Scotland to treat those appearing before the court with respect & dignity.

Kim McGuigan

I am Kim McGuigan the new Youth Relationship Co-Ordinator I will be assisting trainers in the Construction Academy with Young people in a supporting role helping them overcome any barriers they may face whilst doing their training and onwards to gaining employment. Before joined TIGERS & pre lockdown I had completed a two year policy apprenticeship at Community Justice Scotland. I previously worked in partnership with TIGERS and ACE Aware Nation to host ACE's to Assets Conference where we brought the world renowned Gabor Mate to Scotland. Martin Crewe is director of Barnardo's Scotland and a corporate director of Barnardo's UK. Martin initially trained as a scientist and completed a PhD in Geochemistry. He also has an MBA and an MSc in Social Services Management. Martin has worked for a trade union, the National Health Service and charities both big and small. He has over 30 years' experience of working for children's charities. Martin has served on the Boards of several voluntary organisations as well as the Scottish charity regulator (OSCR) and the board of Edinburgh College. Niven Rennie

Job Titles:

Having had over 30 years experience as a police officer, Niven was appointed as Director of the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit in July 2018. Niven joined Strathclyde Police in 1985 and gained his initial police experience in Ayrshire where he became a Detective Officer. He transferred to Glasgow on promotion to Sergeant in 1992 before returning to Ayrshire as an Inspector, Chief Inspector and Superintendent. In 2009 he was appointed Head of Road Policing for Strathclyde Police before becoming Deputy Divisional Commander in Renfrewshire and Inverclyde. Niven was heavily involved in the Scottish police reform process and represented the Association of Scottish Police Superintendents throughout the implementation of Police Scotland in 2013. In 2014, he became a Chief Superintendent and President of the Superintendents Association. This high profile position required him to become the public face of the operational leaders of the police service in Scotland, appearing regularly on television and widely quoted in our newspapers. As Chair of the staff side of the Scottish Police Negotiating Board, Niven led pay negotiations for all police officers in Scotland. Following retirement from the police in 2016, Niven became the Chief Executive Officer of South Ayrshire Escape from Homelessness (SeAscape), a charity offering support to those in poverty or housing need in the Ayrshire area. Niven is now responsible for the strategic direction of the Violence Reduction Unit and represents the unit on a number of national bodies.

A results driven, logical and determined construction professional, Stephen has 20 years' delivery experience across several Infrastructure sectors including Water, Environment, Highways, Transport, Aviation and Utilities. Stephen is the current Vice President of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors; with his year of presidency beginning in 2020. As a member of the Quantity Surveying profession Stephen worked through to Commercial Manager before moving into an Operational role in 2013. Qualified to Master's level in construction law and Degree level in commercial management he is also a visiting lecturer and tutor at the University of the West of Scotland.
