Advocate Abir Ahmed is an integral part of BDLP's core team having expertise in both litigation and corporate affairs. He prepares complex suits, agreements and legal opinions for his clients on a regular basis and also assists Associates & Junior Associates of the firm. He is capable of handling his clients independently and exercises his rights of audience before the cognizance & trial courts regularly. Apart from the above, Mr. Ahmed has experience in complex negotiations, arbitrations and trials. He specialises in business laws and litigations being very conversant with laws and legal developments. SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Mr. Ayon is a hard working individual who makes it his mission to fight for the causes that he believes in. He has a promising legal mind ready to accept any challenge that may come in his way. Mr. Ayon is presently working with his senior colleagues in both corporate and litigation departments to gain more experience.
Barrister Ahmed is an integral part of BDLP who has been with the firm since inception and continues to be a valuable asset. Mr. Kabir is a talented associate with experience in banking documentation, corporate and regulatory affairs. He is also assisting the dispute resolution team on a variety of issue including drafting of memorandums of appeals, pleadings etc.

Mariya is an asset to the drafting & documentation team. She is an integral part of the team and works directly under the supervision of BDLP's partners. Mr Hasan is an Advocate with experience in court room litigation. He graduated from East West University and proceeded to complete his LLM from Bangladesh University of Professionals. Mr Hasan enjoys working on complex cases be it civil or criminal. He has been an integral part of BDLP's litigation team since joining.

This department has been involved mostly in high value finance transactions and was recently involved in overseeing finance documentation for $400 million by a foreign lender and a local conglomerate in relation to the financing operation of St. Regis Dhaka and Hyatt Centric Dhaka. The firm's managing partner has also given venture capital and foreign funding related advice to Shomadhan.com which is a leading mobile app based solutions platform. Apart from these, the firm is regularly involved in creation, vetting and overseeing of corporate and commercial transactions. Most recently, it was involved in review of charge documents in relation to credit facility obtained from the Dutch Bangla Bank Ltd & Commercial Bank of Ceylon Limited PLC jointly worth more than USD $23 million. The firm has also advised on ideal ownership structures and proposed legal framework for Hyatt residence project in Dhaka to be run by Borak Real Estate Ltd & Hyatt International South East Asia.
Another recent highlight is its work related to the issuance of USD $ 88.3 million worth of Zero Coupon Bonds with Strategic Finance Limited as its lead arranger and issued by Unique Hotel & Resorts Limited. The firm is continuously involved in overseeing security related documentation including mortgages, fixed & floating charges, preferential share subscription agreements, trade financing, refinancing, repurchase agreements, subscription agreements, trust deeds, leasing, corporate guarantees etc.
The firm also advises The Westin Dhaka on financial and dispute resolution matters and was directly involved in negotiating terms with Hansa Management Ltd with regards to a facilities management agreement of significant worth. Another recent highlight is its work related to drafting finalising and executing corporate guarantee of CHB Building Technologies for a local client. The firm also advises on cross border joint venture and partnerships with significant worth and most recently was involved in the signing of an agreement between a Japanese tech giant arm 2.5 and a Bangladesh conglomerate. Likewise, a similar joint venture was facilitated by the firm between a Malaysian tech company and a Bangladeshi investor for developments IT Solution based entity in Bangladesh. The firm was also directly involved in advising Borak Real Estate Private Ltd. with regards to its hotel management agreement with Hyatt International South West Asia. Recently, the firm also drafted Gratuity policy of Borak Real Estate Private Ltd. and oversaw the contract between Samsung C&T & Unique Vocation Training Center Ltd. Additionally, the firm advised Topstar Cargo Systems Limited on a significant land transaction and also advised on several land transactions in relation to several power plant projects including the 114MW Feni Lanka project that became operational recently.
The firm is also involved in regular corporate work including share transfers, mergers & acquisitions, business formations, regulatory filings and licensing. Apart from these, the firm also successfully represented BAIRA, one of the biggest trade organisations in the country, in arbitration before the Ministry of Commerce.
Mrs. Das is an aspiring young ambitious lawyer who has joined BDLP after successfully completing her Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the prestigious University of West of England. She is also en-route to becoming a Solicitor of England & Wales. Legal research and drafting are some of her key strengths.
Ms. Afrin is a talented young lawyer with interest in corporate and commercial laws. She graduated from the University of Asia Pacific UAP. She is a keen researcher and a key member of the team. She assists her seniors with drafting & research regularly.
