Alana D. Jasper-Trotter

As a third-generation doctor, one might say that medicine is in Dr. Alana Jasper-Trotter's "blood" but she found her own path to medicine. Born in Hawaii but raised in Wisconsin, she played Division I college basketball for her home state as a Wisconsin Badger and completed her collegiate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison graduating cum laude with a double major in Biology and African-American Studies. After hanging up her sneakers, she shifted her sights to medicine. Dr. Jasper-Trotter graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and completed a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She then completed a fellowship in oculoplastic surgery in North Carolina. Dr. Jasper-Trotter is a classically-trained ophthalmologist specializing in oculoplastic surgery. Her primary interests include ptosis, blepharoplasty, chalazions and other eyelid lesions, eyelid trauma, Mohs reconstruction, botulinum injections (e.g. Botox ®) and other eyelid procedures. Dr. Jasper-Trotter enjoys working out, listening to music, and spending time with her family including her wife and sweet goldendoodle, "Mr. Kai" who is often sporting a fun bow tie. Motivated by her family and her physician roots, Dr. Jasper-Trotter takes pride in providing patient centered care and looks forward to meeting you!

Dr. Ashley Stowe

A native of Jacksonville, Dr. Ashley Stowe received her Bachelor of Science degree from the Burnett Honors College at the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!). She then earned her doctoral degree at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. While in optometry school, she was a member of Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity and participated in a service trip to Honduras giving eye exam to the underprivileged population. She was also a member of the Lion's Club chapter and participated in vision screenings for athletes at the Special Olympics both in Tennessee and in Florida. She then continued her post-doctoral education by pursuing an Ocular Disease and Primary Care Residency at the W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. There, she received extensive training in ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy, as well as specialty training in low vision and advanced contact lenses. In her free time, Dr. Stowe enjoys spending time with family and friends, kayaking, traveling, and supporting her hometown Jacksonville Jaguars.

Dr. Colin Milo

Dr. Colin Milo is a Northeast Florida native who grew up in St. Johns county and attended The Bolles School. Dr. Milo graduated from the University of Florida, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Milo then attended Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Vision Science and completed his Doctor of Optometry. During his clinical rotations, Dr. Milo traveled to Bethel, Alaska, to treat Native Alaskans at an Indian Health Services hospital, as well as in remote villages accessible only by bush plane. His last rotation brought him "home" to Coastal Vision Center in Fernandina. Dr. Milo delivers primary eye care - including comprehensive and diabetic eye exams, fitting contact lenses, pre/post surgical care, and managing ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts and dry eye. Dr. Milo is committed to the delivery of high quality and patient-focused care. In his spare time, Dr. Milo enjoys watching Jaguars and Gator football, coaching local youth/ high school lacrosse, finding sharks teeth on the beach, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Katelyn Marks

Dr. Katelyn Marks is a Wisconsin native. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Marks went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. While at Southern College of Optometry she was a Student Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and received an Outstanding Clinician Award. Dr. Marks is a certified optometrist in Florida and Georgia. She is a member of the Florida Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. She enjoys getting to know patients of all ages while providing thorough comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fittings, pre/post operative care, and managing ocular disease such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye, and diabetic retinopathy. In her free time, Dr. Marks enjoys exploring Amelia Island, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Leah Herron

Dr. Leah Herron grew up in coastal St. Marys, Georgia. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion from The University of Georgia, and then earned her Doctorate from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where she was awarded the Outstanding Clinician Award. Dr. Herron enjoys performing comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages including pediatrics, and she is board licensed in the treatment and management of ocular disease, vision disorders and contact lens fittings. Dr. Herron provides care for ocular conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, and systemic diseases that affect the eyes (diabetes and hypertension). In her spare time, Dr. Herron enjoys traveling with her husband, Major, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Russell Stackhouse

Dr. Russell Stackhouse obtained his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University, followed by his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then went on to complete an ophthalmology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia and finished his medical training with a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Stackhouse's area of expertise includes complex cataract surgery, femto laser-assisted cataract surgery, advanced technology intraocular implants, refractive clear lens exchanges, and LASIK. He is one of the most sought-after cataract surgeons in Northern Florida, performing over 2000 cataract surgeries every year. Dr. Stackhouse, along with his wife and three daughters, have made Amelia Island their home for many years and are deeply involved and invested in this community.

Dr. Tony Stubits

Dr. Tony Stubits has practiced Optometry in Fernandina Beach for the past 30 years with his partner Dr. John W. McClane, III. He did his undergraduate studies at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, majoring in biology. He then graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1982, earning a degree as Doctor of Optometry. Dr. Stubits was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Fraternity and Phi Theta Upsilon Fraternity. Dr Stubits presently holds both Florida and Georgia optometric state licensure. His professional activities include membership in the American Optometric Association, Georgia Optometric Association and Past-President of the Northeast Florida Optometric Society. Dr. Stubits enjoys writing and is the author of two novels; Unnatural Selection, a medical thriller, and The Ocean Under the Moon, a novel about the local shrimping industry. In his leisure time, Dr. Stubits enjoys golfing, fishing and spending time with his family.

Dr. Tyler Wills

Dr. Tyler Wills is a Northeast Florida native and grew up in Jacksonville. He attended the University of Florida where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Aside from providing comprehensive and diabetic eye exams, Dr. Wills has an interest in contact lenses, pre/postsurgical eyecare, and ocular disease management - including cataracts, glaucoma, keratoconus, and dry eye. Dr. Wills is highly motivated to provide quality and service-oriented care for his patients. Dr. Wills completed one of his clinical rotations at Coastal Vision Center during his optometric training, and he is excited about his return to Amelia Island. In his spare time, Dr. Wills stays active by biking, golfing, fishing, kayaking, and watching Gator football.
