Cindy Blackman

Blackman is a follower of the Persian Baha'i religion, which aims at unifying all the religions and all the people. Music, and the instinctive power of rhythm, in particular, can surely be a great way to work towards that goal. Cindy Blackman was a pioneer in many ways. She had to face difficulties due to her gender, race, afro hairdo, yet she managed to live a fulfilling artistic life that still inspires many younger musicians and draws the favor of jazz and rock lovers around the world.

Ginger Baker

Besides a distinctive playing style that is characterized by a lot of jazz flavor, Ginger Baker is also one of those drummers who changed the way we look at drum kits. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is his use of double bass pedals. At the time, he was among the first drummers to use such a setup. These days, such setup is pretty much a standard thing among metal drummers and other hard hitters.

Mike O'Connor

I've been playing drums for over 18 years. I work as both a session drummer and a drum teacher, and I love to share my knowledge and tips on this site. You can also find me on the Electronic Drum Advisor YouTube channel.

Neil Peart

Neil Peart was one of the best all-time drummers. He was phenomenal, R.I.P.

Samantha Maloney

Samantha Maloney plays Sonor Drums and Zildjian Cymbals. When scoring music for TV and movies she also uses some electronic equipment such as a Roland Keyboard. Samantha Maloney is indeed a strong example for any woman who'd like to pursue a career in the world of rock. She proves that a solid practice and an authentic love for the genre you play can make you achieve incredible results.
