Nicole White, the face and hands behind H&L Ceramics, found her way to clay during graduate school. She fell head over heels in love with the whole process. In 2019, she decided to pursue a career full time in ceramics. With a focus on colorways and textures evocative of nature, she pulls on her background in the sciences to create pieces that are a joy to hold and experience on a daily basis... As a scientist, there was always a dividing line between being an activist and being objective in your research. While I left the sciences after completing my master's degree, I carried what I'd learned with me, including my aversion to checking email (I'm so sorry y'all) and riding that line between being objective and allowing my own views to become a part of my work. Like so many, I have behaviors to unlearn. With that in mind, I feel that using my own art to leverage the work of others, to raise funds for individuals and organizations, and share resources are incredibly important to me. It..
