After an extensive analysis and thoughtful deliberation, the Hawthorn University Board of Governors is announcing that the University will cease operations by the end of 2021. Hawthorn University has reached a teach-out agreement with American College of Healthcare Sciences which has been approved by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission... Although closing the University was a hard and difficult decision Hawthorn University has entered into a collaborative and supportive agreement with the American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS), www.achs.edu , to continue our mission of accredited online integrative health and holistic nutrition education. We feel confident in recommending them to carry on our legacy and to meet the students' educational needs. Their supportive, and open-door philosophy are aligned with Hawthorn, and we feel positive about leaving students in their professional and caring hands... Hawthorn University will voluntarily withdraw from DEAC accreditation..
