My name is Brad Mastros. I live in southern California with my wife and two daughters. As a kid I grew up playing basketball and played at Pacifica High School in CA. After high school, I began working as an aide for students with special needs while I completed a BA in Elementary Education, an Education Specialist Credential, and later an MS in Special Education. I have been a teacher for students with disabilities for over 15 years and currently teach a specialized class for students with Autism. During my college and early teaching years I did extensive traveling, backpacking, and mountaineering that culminated in multiple expeditions to Peru and Alaska. After my wife became pregnant with our first daughter, I did my last big climb in Peru and then decided to try my hand at triathlon. Like many of us, I watched the Wide World of Sports when I was a kid and remember thinking what bad asses those men and women were who competed in the Hawaii Ironman. The seed that was planted many..
