MICHOUD HERITAGE

The Boeing Company established the Saturn Boaster Branch under the direction of George H. Stoner who directed the various assigned resources in Seattle, Wichita, Huntsville, Houston and the Kennedy Space Center. Reporting to Mr. Stoner was Richard H. Nelson who was initially in charge of Michoud. A brief description of the various implementing organizations at Michoud and supporting locations is provided. Subsequent listings of individual personnel fall into one of these categories. Branch Management The Branch Management function had overview over all Boeing operating organizations at Michoud, Houston, Huntsville and the Kennedy Space Center. Planning, Reporting & Technical Support This organization was formed at the inception of the Saturn S-1C Program. This group was responsible for Saturn S-1C program planning and status at Michoud and supporting locations. They also had the responsibility to interface with NASA with respect to the interpretation of work statements, schedule..
