Amber Fleming is a Licensed Psychological Associate with experience in treating children and adolescents in inpatient and outpatient settings. Her areas of expertise are in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, as well as impulse-control and conduct disorders. Amber particularly enjoys conducting comprehensive psychological testing for all age groups to assess for intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, attentional or behavioral problems, and personality disorders.

Ashley Phelps

Ashley Phelps is a Licensed Psychological Associate with over six years of in-patient mental health treatment experience. Over one year ago, she transitioned to outpatient mental health, with a focus on conducting psychological assessments, neuropsychological evaluations, and psychoeducational evaluations. Her areas of expertise are in the evaluation and treatment of severe persistent mental illness, developmental disabilities (i.e., Autism Spectrum Disorder), and intellectual disabilities. She also has training and experience in behavioral therapies and creating behavioral plans.

Cindy Koempel

Cindy Koempel is a Licensed Psychological Associate with over 20 years of experience working in the NC community behavioral health system. Her clinical and administrative experience has included assessment, treatment and advocacy for people living with serious mental illness. Cindy joined the practice in 2020 to conduct Social Security Evaluations on a part-time basis.

Elizabeth Shaw

Elizabeth Shaw is a licensed psychologist with 35 years of experience in adult and child psychotherapy and assessment. She has worked with a diverse population in a variety of mental health settings. Her special areas of expertise are anxiety, depression, mindful eating, grief, end of life family consultations, and parenting classes. Dr. Shaw is a great listener and can help you understand how to work toward better life satisfaction.

Heather Currin

Heather Currin is a dually Licensed Psychological Associate and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist with more than 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults. She has experience conducting a variety of comprehensive psychological, neuropsychological, cognitive, and substance use evaluations. Her experience has allowed her the opportunity to work with clients dealing with a number of issues including drug and alcohol addiction, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Heather also provides psycho-educational presentations to the public on substance abuse. She is happy to offer evening and weekend appointments to accommodate your schedule.

Hillary Tunstall

Hillary Tunstall is a licensed psychological associate with experience in the private practice of Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy and assessment in the school system. Her 10 years in the field of ABA and assessment has been dedicated to children ranging in age from toddlerhood to teenage years. Much of this time has been spent working entirely with children with autism. This has allowed her to have particular experience and expertise in the area of assessment of autism and subsequent treatment planning.

She specializes in brief solution-focused therapy and providing psychoeducation to groups.

Jana Wilson

She has experience in conducting a multitude of psychological assessments, neuropsychological evaluations, and psychoeducational evaluations. Her areas of expertise are in the evaluation and treatment of neurocognitive disorders secondary to strokes, traumatic brain injuries and other medical conditions, as well as evaluation for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and learning disabilities. She also specializes in the assessment and identification of academically gifted children to facilitate involvement in specialized academic programs.

Katherine Sunder

Katherine Sunder is a Licensed Psychologist with outpatient and inpatient experience, primarily focusing on forensic populations. Her expertise consists of the evaluation of severe and persistent mental illness, personality disorders, and diagnostic clarification as these areas relate to psycho-legal questions. She particularly enjoys assessing how symptoms of mental illness impact functional abilities. Dr. Sunder joined the practice in 2019 to conduct Social Security Disability evaluations on a part-time basis.
