I competed in my first triathlon in 1986 and my first Ironman in Kona, in 1988. From 1989 through 1997 I competed at a world-class level, including 5 top ten finishes and twice placing 3rd in Kona. In 1993, while still competing, I began coaching a few friends. By 1996, I realized that was my real passion. Of course, I enjoyed competing, but what I really loved was the science and art behind the training process. In 1997 I focused more on coaching while competing only a few times and was soon coaching full-time, transforming my passion into a career. I have been coaching triathletes, runners, cyclists, and duathletes of all levels of experience and ability ever since. Whether you are training for your first 5k run or your 10th Ironman triathlon, I can help you.
