We are a family owned and operated auto-electric business. Our family has been in the industry for over 70 years! In 1946, George McFarlane opened a rebuilding shop called Spring Service in Wilmington, NC. His grandson, Steve Berg Sr, began working there in 1967. Years later, his great-grandson, Steve Berg Jr, started working there in 1985. Steve Sr and Steve Jr decided to branch off on their own in 1991 and start a business called Alternator Specialist. We've been here ever since!... We are a full-service rebuilding shop for alternators, starters, and D.C. motors. We are also a wholesale parts warehouse for alternators, starters, D.C. motors, batteries, and component parts. Our longstanding presence in the automotive industry allows us to purchase at the distributor level with all our vendors, giving you some of the lowest and most competitive prices available.
