BGI President and Owner Woody Hooper, has over thirty years of experience in the golf industry. He brings extensive product knowledge to meet individual client needs and serves as a dependable go-to supplier for larger golf facilities. Woody Hooper graduated in 1989 from a golf repair and fitting course at the Golf Works in Newark, Ohio. In 1990, he began work at Baltimore Golf Club Repair under the mentorship of Melvin Lerhrl. During this time, Woody learned the craftsmanship of refinishing and re-shafting wood clubs. He started Woody's Golf Club Repair in 1994 and quickly acquired golf club accounts from hundreds of local golf courses. To keep up with his growing demand in the Mid-Atlantic region, he operated a club repair tour van and took his golf expertise on the road. In 1995, Woody earned his Associates Degree in Business from Carroll Community College and became a certified Golf Teaching Professional two years later. He taught private lessons for five years at Rocky Gorge Golf Fairway in Columbia, Maryland and received his teaching credentials from the United States Golf Teachers Federation (USTGF). In 2002, Woody purchased Baltimore Golf Inc., and today he is still providing exceptional service aimed to help golfers at every skill level achieve their highest potential.
