Dr Alok Gupta

Alok is one of the founders of Wollongong Diagnostics. Originally from India, after finishing his graduation in medicine and training in Radiology in 2001, Alok travelled to Lausanne Switzerland to further enhance his knowledge and skills on cross-sectional imaging and non-vascular intervention on a short term fellowship. Having worked extensively in India and internationally Alok carries with him a wealth of knowledge in all imaging modalities including MRI, CT scan, Ultrasound and mammography. He moved to Australia in 2006 and got his first job in Wollongong as a consultant radiologist. Having cleared the fellowship of Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in 2010, he joined Wollongong Hospital as a consultant radiologist and director of training in Radiology. He continues to work there on a part-time basis. He is a director and Consultant radiologist at Wollongong Diagnostics, the fastest growing radiology group in the Illawarra region. Other feathers in his cap include visiting medical officer to Canberra hospital, Hunter New England health services and to Gosford hospital. His areas of interest are pain management, cross-sectional imaging and Women's imaging. He is the preferred pain management services provider for the St. George Illawarra Dragons, one of the top NRL teams in the country. He is a keen teacher and enjoys teaching radiology trainees and medical students at the Graduate School of Medicine in Wollongong. On the personal front, he enjoys time with his family, reading, travelling and volunteering for various local organisations.

Dr Arunima Gupta

Arunima is one of the founders and managing director of Wollongong Diagnostics. She is a full-time consultant radiologist and has been practicing radiology since 1998 in India, middle east and Australia. She has a keen interest in head and neck radiology and abdominal radiology. She is the mother of two kids and is locally based. She loves music, Bollywood dancing, trekking and travelling. She has been an IMG assessor for the royal college of radiologists and HMO in Wollongong Hospital. She believes "If you don't fight for what you want, then don't cry for what you lost" - Srimad Bhagavad Gita.

Pon Anura

Job Titles:
  • Executive Officer for the NSW Government
Pon is a medical graduate from Sri Lanka and obtained a post-graduate diploma qualification in Public Health at Sydney University and an MBA at Macquarie University. Founding Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Alfred Health Solutions between 2007-2018. Conceptualised and established Macquarie Medical Imaging at Macquarie University Hospital as a joint venture with Macquarie University. Pon's greatest achievement was adopting new and emerging technologies and processes, developing a model of care based on these new technological advances and processes, and educating specialists and General Practitioners as part of the implementation of these business development strategies. He has the experience in opinion generating, educating, marketing and selling these new models of care, processes and techniques with more than 3,000 specialists and General Practitioners. Pon has worked as an Executive Officer for the NSW Government to review and develop strategies to enhance medical imaging services in NSW as part of the Greater Metropolitan Task Force. Pon worked as the NSW Head of Marketing for I-MED, the largest medical imaging service provider in the world, developing and implementing various business strategies, marketing campaigns and sales strategies. Pon worked as a Principle Management and Planning Consultant for 5 years.
