We focus primarily on three interconnected lines of family stress research: children's technology use, parent well-being, and early adversity on child development... We are evaluating how early adversity exposures (e.g., poverty, parental psychopathology, neglect and abuse) affect the expression of neuroregulatory genes, which guide brain development, calibrate stress reactivity and influence the development of psychopathology... The Child and Family Well-being Clinic and Lab at FIU focuses on how families influence children's adaptive and maladaptive development.
