Adrian Melbourn

Adrian is an experienced trainer with 14 years' experience within in-patient mental health services, child and adolescent secure, open and eating disorder services, both as a senior practitioner and trainer. His training role includes all aspects of induction, mandatory and specialist trainings for all levels of staff, and attends the houses to review the staff's practical applications of the training he delivers. He is a qualified Mental Health First Aid trainer with MHFA England, and a qualified physical interventions trainer with General Services Association (GSA).

Antony Spencer

Job Titles:
  • IT Manager
Antony is responsible for all areas of IT and telecommunications for the company. He has worked with us since 2010 and fully understands the service and the needs of the IT provision for the homes. He has had lead involvement in setting up new electronic case recording systems (Clearcare for the CCR homes and Caredocs for CCT). Antony is accessible for IT support formally and informally for all staff, and is able to assist with technical problems with either advice over the phone, remote accessing and attending the placements when necessary.

Bev Cyrus

Bev Cyrus is a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN), with 25 + years NHS and independent sector experience. Her wide range of experience has included adult, child and adolescent mental health, eating disorder and general acute. Bev has had extensive experience setting up and managing specific mental health services for children and adolescents, having successfully led the opening and development of the UK's first child and adolescent psychiatric intensive care service. The immediate success of this cutting-edge independent sector service paved the way for many similar services developing across the country. Since then, she has further developed services for secure CAMHS, open adolescent and eating disorder provisions for young people. Bev has developed a range of clinical and management skills in the process, including leading and managing the range of clinical services within a busy mental health provision including therapy, social work, education, occupational therapy and nursing. Bev has also retained a strong clinical involvement throughout her career, maintaining a caseload of service-users and being involved in front-line care issues on an ad hoc basis from a management position.

Cindy Smith

Cindy had an extensive background in early years childcare prior to joining Cove in 2010. Cindy is central to the administrative and financial management of the business. She also takes a lead role in processing referrals and maintaining relationships with new and existing partner agencies and local authorities.

Lee Smith - Founder

Lee's professional qualifications include RMN; Diploma of Higher Education; Post-Graduate Certificate in Education and Post-Graduate Diploma in Child Forensic Studies: Psychology and Law. He has the NVQ Level 4 in Management. Lee Smith is a trained mental health nurse (RMN), also with 25 + years of post-registration experience within child and adolescent mental health, both in the NHS and independent sector. He had early clinical posts within forensic, psychiatric intensive care and acute services, experiences which developed a strong professional foundation and core skills which include client-centeredness, care planning expertise, key working strategies with young people, leading facilitative and therapeutic group work, and brokering care from across interagency and multi-disciplinary teams. Lee moved on to more senior posts including lecturer-practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist (adolescent secure services) and at nurse consultant level. His professional activities have included setting up and chairing a national multidisciplinary group on the management of aggressive young people, a membership which included professionals from mental health, social services, Youth Justice, and education. Lee is currently leading a multi-agency group of professionals special interest group around the mental health needs of young people within residential care (the MHRCC group).

Liza Gallon

Liza has extensive experience within CAMHS units, initially for the NHS and later within independent sector settings. She has held posts in both Tier 4 and Primary Care CAMHS, in-patient settings and within the community. Liza's central focus with Cove Care is to provide specialist mental health nursing liaison within the in-house Clinical Team; training, support and guidance to the Registered Managers and Support Work teams; and to work directly with young people dependent on their needs.

Rachel Oliver

Rachel Oliver has over 25 years experience in social care including residential care and fostering. Her qualifications are DipSW, Foundation degree therapeutic childcare, BA (Hons) open degree with leadership and management, Diploma level 5 Leadership for health and social care for children and young people. Rachel has over 15 years in senior managerial positions working alongside professionals to support children, young people, staff and professionals to deliver the best outcomes. Rachel has worked for Cove Care from 2013. She has had responsibility for a Foster Care provision, undertaking independent Regulation 44 visits, and training delivery. She is a qualified Mental Health First Aid trainer with MHFA England.
