Alyssa Valcourt

Alyssa Valcourt, Science and Math Librarian, is an Assistant Professor at James Madison University. She holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Rhode Island. Alyssa currently consults with faculty and students for undergraduate and graduate level research coursework, provides information literacy instruction, and is the liaison between the College of Science of Math and the library.

Dean Fossella

Dean is responsible for managing JoVE's editorial, production, and information technology teams. An academic publishing veteran, he has been at the intersection of web technology and content delivery since 1995. As a forward-thinking publishing executive, his expertise has been almost exclusively in creating and sharing digital content. Prior to joining JoVE, he spent 14 years at The Thomson Corp. holding multiple CTO positions. Subsequently, he was CTO of Jones and Bartlett Learning, responsible for the core product and tech implementation. He also has extensive corporate experience, having managed content development, production, and delivery as senior vice president at SAI Global. His capabilities and experience run from production to product management to strategy and more. He lives in Massachusetts, and enjoys spending time with his children, and on the water, typically fishing.

Donna Gibson

Donna Gibson is the Director of Library Services for the Nathan Cummings Center at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) and has been in this role since August 2009. MSKCC is one of the world's premier cancer centers committed to exceptional patient care, leading-edge research, and superb educational programs. The close collaboration between physicians and scientists is a unique strength, enabling them to provide patients with the best care available today as they work to discover more-effective strategies to prevent, control, and ultimately cure cancer in the future. The Library supports this commitment to patient care and strives to provide access to a dynamic collection and targeted services. Ms. Gibson joined MSKCC in 2004 as the Associate Director, User Services. Prior to her move to the Center, she worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb in various roles in managing research libraries and information centers, and working on enterprise-wide projects. She won several internal awards to include: PRI STAR Award, Outstanding Service and Results Marketing KIR Products, Services and Events; IKM Achievement Award, Event Planner for Annual BMS Knowledge Network Meeting; IKM Achievement Award, Project Manager, KIR Hotline and; President's Recognition, team member for response to the Canadian Coordinating Office for Health Technology Assessment (CCOHTA) report on "Statins." Ms. Gibson is committed to executing knowledge management initiatives to improve business results by educating, innovating, and collaborating with users. She is focused on delivering services that enhance the user's information retrieval experience from start to finish. This includes partnering with users to better understand how published literature, information services, technology, and social networking tools integrate within their work environment. Under her leadership, the library launched a new public-facing website in a responsive web-design, Synapse (connection to MSK authors and their publications), the MSK Library Blog, a Systematic Review Service, and ORCID@MSK. Ms. Gibson contributes to several professional associations (MLA, SLA, AAHSL) and sits on several external library advisory boards. Ms. Gibson received her Master's degree in Library Science from McGill University, Montreal, Canada. She also has her Project Management Certificate from Boston University.

Elizabeth Ketterman

Beth began her career at ECU in 2001 as liaison librarian to the College of Nursing. She transitioned through positions managing collections and electronic resources and is now the Director at ECU's Laupus Health Sciences Library. She has been a JOVE Librarian Advisory Board member since its inception in 2012.

JoAnn Van Schaik

JoAnn Van Schaik is Executive Director of the Louis Calder Memorial Library at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine, and Interim Chair of the Department of Health Informatics. She previously served as a Public Services Librarian at St. Louis University and was Assistant Director for Library Public Services at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in Lubbock. In 1994 she was promoted to Senior Director of Technical Services for the four-library TTUHSC System and in 2011 was appointed as Calder Library's Director of Library Operations in Miami. She became Interim Executive Director and Interim Chair in February 2014 and Executive Director in June 2016. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University and Kent State University, Ohio.

Julia Gelfand

Julia Gelfand is the Applied Sciences, Engineering & Public Health Librarian at the University of California, Irvine Libraries. She has published and presented widely on topics ranging from collection development issues and sustainable collections, scholarly communication in the sciences, grey literature in many contexts, multimedia in the sciences, open access, and other subjects. Active in many professional organizations including current service on the ACRL Board of Directors, AAAS Section on Computing, Information & Communication, IFLA Science & Technology Section she is engaged professionally at an international level. She is a graduate of Goucher College and has an MSLS and MA from Case Western Reserve University and has been a Fulbright Fellow and a Thomas J. Watson Fellow.

Mark Ingram

Originally from Glasgow, Mark swapped the sunny and clementine shores of Scotland for the US to play collegiate ice hockey. After he 'hung up the skates', Mark Joined JoVE in 2013, working out of the Cambridge HQ as an Account Manager. Following successful campaigns in the US, he headed back to the UK to open JoVE's first international office in London. JoVE's European office has since grown from a small team of three employees to a team of eight. In 2015 they were successful in securing the largest account in JoVE's history. In his spare time you can occasionally find him on an ice rink acting out his glory days at college, although these days he is much more interested in collecting obscure vinyl records.

Meetha Rao - CFO

Meetha graduated from Bangalore University, India with a major in Accounting. She has completed the Intermediate level of Chartered Accountant exam from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Before joining JoVE, Meetha worked for NCS Raghavan & Co, Chartered Accountants as an Accounts/Audit Manager for about 8 years. During this time, she advised clients on mergers and acquisitions, prepared financial statements and tax returns, and also conducted external and internal audits for various clients.

Michael Newman

As the Head Librarian and Bibliographer at Falconer Biology Library, Stanford University, Michael Newman is responsible for branch library management, collection development and management, reference in the life sciences, and user education. He has held this position since 1993, and since 2014, he has served as the acting head of the Mathematics and Statistics Library. From 1995 through 2014, he worked with HighWire Press, a leading e-publishing platform, working with the HighWire team to develop ejournal features and gaining extensive experience in usability tests and interviews with users. Previously he worked as an Information Consultant/Librarian at Lane Medical Library, Stanford University.

Rachel Borchardt

Rachel Borchardt is the Associate Science Librarian at American University, and previously worked as the Biology and Neuroscience and Behavior Biology Librarian at Emory University. Her primary research interests concern the intersection of altmetrics and librarianship, and she is the co-author of Meaningful Metrics: A 21st Century Librarian's Guide to Bibliometrics, Altmetrics and Research Impact. Rachel holds an MLS in Medical Librarianship from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as dual BA degrees in Neuroscience and Psychology from Oberlin College. In her spare time, she enjoys running, playing board games, and spending time with her husband Adam and son Milo.

Ronald Myers

Ron received his Ph.D. in cellular, molecular, and developmental biology from Tufts University. During his thesis work he investigated the role of various extracellular matrix proteins in the proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells. After graduating from Tufts, Ron began a postdoctoral research position at Harvard Medical School. His research focused on the role of a novel class of arrestins, the α-arrestins, on β-adrenergic receptors in the context of heart failure and obesity. Steven Altieri

A seasoned industry sales and marketing pro, Steve has 10-plus years in academic publishing. He joined JoVE in 2012 as an account manager, and eventually sold into every one of the company's markets. As he rose in the sales department, he envisioned ways to take the company into a dynamic future. He led the department from a five-member internal sales team to a 30-plus combined integrated sales, marketing and customer success group. In 2014, he personally launched the Asia Pacific sales office in Melbourne. An East Boston resident, in his spare time you can find him on his bike or behind a book.
