Kaley Teas are grown and made in a single garden in a rural village in the South of Sri Lanka. We are located 12 kilometers as the crow flies from Sinharaja;... We preserve 23 acres of our land as a rainforest. We are researching and further developing the forest ecosystem in partnership with The Wildlife and Nature Protection Society (WNPS) of Sri Lanka. We are also converting our tea garden to an Agro-forest under the guidance of world-renowned Systems Ecologist, Dr. Ranil Senanayake. We nurture 3 streams that surround our land and multiple springs that originate from the forest. We grow multiple plant species to protect soil from run-off, maintain over 3Kms of stone terraced and harvest 20 million liters of rainwater in a man-made lake. We grow cover crops to conserve and regenerate soil and cultivate diverse crops to naturally enhance the nutrients in the soil. We produce our own bio-fertiliser to further enrich soil... We source tea seeds from 100-year-old tea trees in the wild..
