Mr Bonginkosi Wilfred

Mr Bonginkosi Wilfred Magagula is a renowned corporate lawyer in the Kingdom of Swaziland. His practice includes labour law litigation, contract law, general corporate law and civil litigation. He also specializes in providing legal advice on construction contracts and drafting of specialized construction contracts such as FIDIC, GCC and JBCC. Bonginkosi Magagula holds an LLB obtained from the University of Swaziland. Having obtained a master's degree in International Law, specializing in Air, Space and Telecommunications law from the University of Pretoria (U.P), he is particularly qualified to advise clients on aviation regulatory & compliance framework, insurance aspects of aviation, aircraft and airline licensing. His specialized work further includes, advising on licensing of systems and services in the telecommunications industry, approval and acceptance of communications equipment for use in the kingdom of Swaziland, as well as providing legal advice on competition (law) aspects of telecommunications industry. Bonginkosi Magagula has immense experience in commercial litigation, legal drafting and interpretation of complex contracts and legislation. He has approximately 20 years practice experience under his belt. He began his working career as a candidate attorney at Shilubane, Ntiwane and Partners in 1997 where he got admitted as an attorney in 1999. He joined Robinson Bertram attorneys in 1999 as an attorney, and he worked his way up the ranks of the firm up until he was made partner at the firm. In 2007 he left Robinson Bertram and co-founded Cloete-Henweeod- Magagula-Dlamini Attorneys where he was a partner up until 2010. He then founded Magagula Attorneys in 2010, where he is the Managing Director. Over and above being a successful lawyer, Mr. Magagula has been involved in various corporate institutions in the Kingdom of Swaziland where he has served in various board(s) of directors. Most notably, he served as a board member at Swaziland Civil Aviation Authority (SWACAA) for a period of eight years; the last 5 of which he was the chairman of the board up until July 2016. Currently, Mr Magagula is serving as deputy chairman of the board at the Royal science & Technology park (RSTP), an institution specialising in technological development, biotechnology and business development. Through his involvement in these specialized institutions, Mr. Magagula has significantly increased his capacity and ability to solve clients' legal needs whilst having regard to their particular business dealings. Siphiwe Vilakati joined the Magagula attorneys in 2015. She holds an LLB degree from the University of Zululand, in the republic of South Africa. Her strengths are in the practice of corporate law; namely company law, banking law, corporate law, contract law and international business transactions law. Siphiwe Vilakti is particularly qualified to advise clients insolvency proceedings, debt restructuring, drafting of partnership and joint venture agreements as well as multi-lateral trade agreements. Her litigation work involves representing clients in civil cases, labour law related matters as well as debt collection. Before joining magagula attorneys, she worked as a paralegal for various South African based firms, such as Freedom of Expression Institute (F.X.I) and KVN Attorneys, where she amassed significant experience in class action litigation, human rights law as well as dispute resolution and arbitration. She is currently on study leave in Italy where she is pursuing her master's degree in Rule of Law for Development at the University of Loyola. Qualifications • LLB (University of Zululand)
