Mangia Macaroni was a nickname given to the Lazzaroni street beggars in Naples, Italy. Translated this means "Pasta Eaters." In the late 1700's Pasta was cheap & plentiful. It was made in the streets of Naples & hung out to dry in the open air. The Lazzaroni would eat Pasta by the fistful with their bare hands. Today, Pasta has come a long way from its early roots. Americans have become accustomed to eating this Italian staple at their dinner table or in sit down restaurants. We created Mangia Macaroni as a nod to the "Pasta Eaters" who paved the way for Italian cuisine as we know it. We are taking Pasta back to its roots as a homemade Street Food. A meal that can be prepared fast & eaten on the go. We encourage our customers to use a fork. But if you choose not to…... We at Mangia Macaroni are equipped to handle office lunches and special events of all sizes. Catering orders fo 50 people or less can be fulfilled with 1 hour notice. Events for 50+ people require 24 hour notice.....
