IRINA MEJOUEVA

Irina Mejoueva was born in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. She started playing the piano at the age of five. Later, she studied at the Gnessin Special Music School and then at the Gnessin Institute of Music (Gnessin Russian Academy of Music) in Moscow with Prof. Vladimir Tropp. In 1992 she won first prize at the Eduard Flipse International Competition in Rotterdam. Her success led to numerous solo recitals and concerto performances with orchestras in the Netherlands, Germany and France. In 1994 she gave her first solo recital at the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire. She moved to Japan in 1997 and has performed many recitals in Japan and other Asian countries. In 2001 she gave a series of four recitals in Tokyo for the memory of the Russian composer Nikolai Medtner (1880-1951). In 2002 she gave a concert tour presented by Steinway Japan Co. In 2005 and 2006 she performed a series of four solo recitals at The Symphony Hall, Osaka, one of the most highly regarded concert halls in Japan. In..
