Dr. Elizabeth Choi

As Medical Optometrist at MOA - Shrewsbury, Dr. Elizabeth Choi provides expert care for patients taking a proactive approach to their eye health and overall health. Medical eye care has been a passion of Dr. Choi's throughout her career, education, and training. She graduated from SUNY College of Optometry and completed a residency at the Baltimore VA Medical Center, one of the premier residency sites in the nation. During her residency she was awarded the Gold Pin Award in recognition of excellence in patient care. Dr. Choi graduated cum laude with her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuropsychology from Boston College. Dr. Choi completed clinical rotations at the internationally renowned Wilmer Eye Institute at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Conducting and presenting research on transformational new testing and treatment methodologies on a regional and national level is also a main focus of Dr. Choi's career. As an active member of the American Academy of Optometry and the American Optometric Association, Dr. Choi is dedicated to advancing the field of Optometry to the benefit of patients and her fellow practitioners. Dr. Choi leverages her experience and expertise to provide proactive management of ocular disease including glaucoma, dry eye, diabetic eye disease, and age-related macular degeneration for patients at MOA - Shrewsbury. Prior to joining MOA, she served as a medical optometrist at Ashburn Eyecare Associates.

Dr. Leslie E. O'Dell

Medical Director of MOA-Shrewsbury, Leslie O'Dell, OD, FAAO, focuses on the management of ocular disease including glaucoma, dry eye, diabetic eye disease, and age-related macular degeneration. Dr. O'Dell graduated from Salus University (formerly Pennsylvania College of Optometry) in 2003 and completed a residency at the Baltimore VA Hospital, one of the premier residency sites in the nation. Throughout her career, Dr. O'Dell has demonstrated her commitment to optimizing patient outcomes through her personalized approach to eye care. She is equally passionate about advancing the field of Optometry and leaving her mark through a wide variety of research endeavors aimed at improving the testing and treatment of ocular diseases. Dr. O'Dell is a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry, a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, and a member of the board of directors of the Optometric Glaucoma Foundation. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, Optometric Glaucoma Society, and Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society (TFOS). She was selected to participate in the TFOS Dry Eye Workshop (TFOS DEWSII) initiative in 2017 and is actively participating in the TFOS Global Workshop: "A Lifestyle Epidemic: Ocular Surface Disease." She is one of six TFOS Global Ambassadors for the United States. Dr. O'Dell is a founding member and current board member of the Intrepid Eye Society. Throughout her career, Dr. O'Dell has been active in designing, conducting and presenting results for a variety of clinical research studies, including FDA trials and Phase III and Phase IV studies, that have advanced testing and treatment methodologies for a variety of ocular diseases and dry eye management. She currently serves as Director of Clinical Research for MOA and is highly sought-after clinical lecturer by medical device and pharmaceutical companies. Primary Care Optometry News named Dr. Leslie O'Dell to the inaugural "PCON 250" list recognizing excellence in patient care and innovation in the field of Optometry. She was honored by the Central Pennsylvania Optometric Society as "Young OD of the Year" and "OD of the Year." The Central Penn Business Journal named Dr. O'Dell to its "40 Under 40 list" in 2016 and the "Healthcare Power 30 list" in 2021. Drew Pinkin

Drew Pinkin has over 20 years of financial management and operational experience; 15 of those in a nutriceutical setting. Prior to Medical Optometry America, he was Chief Financial Officer of Acumen Health Holdings, which owns PRN Physician Recommended Nutriceuticals and Veterinarian Recommended Solutions. PRN sells products for eye health through Ophthalmologists and Optometrists while VRS sells products for animal health through Veterinarians and animal hospitals. Drew previously held various operational positions at CCG Marketing Solutions, a full-service marketing support and 3PL provider specializing in Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals. Drew holds an undergraduate degree from Boston College and obtain his MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

Dry Eye

Eric Donnenfeld, MD is a trustee of Dartmouth Medical School and a clinical professor of ophthalmology at NYU. He was a resident and Chief Resident at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and completed a Cornea Fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital. He is the founding partner of Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island, one of the largest practices in the United States. Dr. Donnenfeld is the Editor-in-Chief of EyeWorld and Editor-in-Chief emeritus of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today. He has written over 220 peer review papers on cornea, external disease, cataract and refractive surgery, 60 book chapters and 3 books. He is on the editorial board of 9 journals and has participated in over 60 FDA trials. Dr. Donnenfeld was named America's Best Eye Doctor in 2021 and 2022 by Newsweek, one of the Top 25 Innovators in Ophthalmology over the past 25 years by Ophthalmology Management, and One of the 50 Most Influential People on Ophthalmology by The Ophthalmologist. Dr. Donnenfeld is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has received its Honor Award, Senior Honor Award, Life Achievement Honor Award and Secretariat Award. Dr. Donnenfeld is Surgical Director of the Lions Eye Bank for Long Island. He served as president of ASCRS, the Nassau Surgical Society, the International Ocular Microbiology and Immunology Group, the Ophthalmology Division of the Nassau Academy of Medicine, and is the incoming President of the International Intraocular Implant Society.

Michael Chaiken

Dr. Chaiken spent more than three decades as a highly successful practicing clinical Optometrist and practice owner while taking on numerous leadership roles focused on the regulatory, business and financial side of the eye care industry. His clinical career and practice ownership roles culminated with Dr. Chaiken served as CEO of IRIS The Visual Group, Canada's leading eye care provider with over 170 locations and revenues in excess of $110MM at the time of its sale to the New Look Vision Group, Inc. Previously, Dr. Chaiken also served as President, PRN Canada and President, Clinique Visuelle 20/20 Inc. Over the years, Dr. Chaiken served three terms as the President of the Quebec Order of Optometrists and held numerous other leadership and committee roles within that organization. He was also named "Optometrist of the Year" by the Quebec Order of Optometrists. Dr. Chaiken earned a Bachelor's Degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and Doctorate Degree from the University of Montreal School of Optometry.
