PACIFIC VIOLINS

Playing the violin and viola since childhood, Frances went on to violin making through her love of music and woodworking. From there, she discovered a passion for restoration. Born in Halifax, Canada, Frances left her hometown in 2004 to attend violin making school abroad. She holds diplomas from IPIALL Antonio Stradivari in Italy, and the Chicago School of Violin Making in the United States. She has worked The Sound Post, in Toronto, Canada and at The Sydney String Centre in Australia. In addition, Frances continues to hone her craft by attending the Oberlin Violin Restoration workshop through the Violin Society of America, every year in Ohio. She currently resides in Sydney, Australia, where she continues fine-tuning her craft... Violin repair and restoration in Newtown, Sydney. Services include next day bow rehairing, seasonal tune-ups, sound adjustments, higher-end rentals, musical instrument sales and more.
