PEKA continues to receive support from entrepreneurs from sectors such as timber manufacturers, exporters, loggers, timber & furniture traders, and jetty operators as well as professionals. In addition, PEKA is the only Bumiputera association recognized by the Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB)... PEKA is involved in research in collaborations with the government and private sector organizations, and the scope of research includes marketing, processing technology and management of wood material... The Association of Malaysia Bumiputra Timber and Furniture Entrepreneurs (PEKA) was established in October 1991 to support the aspirations of the country's timber industry while defending the interests of Bumiputera timber and furniture entrepreneurs in Malaysia.
