Glenn E. Gold

Glenn E. Gold is a Registered Patent Lawyer in Florida concentrating exclusively on patent, trademark, copyright and related licensing and contract matters. He primarily focuses on the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and international patent and trademark applications, including evaluating and providing opinions on patent and trademark availability and infringement. Glenn has vast experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a variety of fields, including the mechanical, electro-mechanical, telecommunications, internet, smart device (e.g., mobile phone) software/applications, gaming, dental and medical device arts. In addition to assisting individual inventors and small to mid-sized companies with the patenting and branding/trademarking of their inventions/products, Glenn has drafted and/or prosecuted patent/trademark applications for a number of large, well-known companies/institutions, such as the University of Florida, Motorola, IBM and Lockheed. Before founding Gold & Rizvi, P.A., Glenn worked in-house at Motorola, Inc., concentrating primarily on patent prosecution matters, and in private practice with the Intellectual Property (IP) legal division of Quarles & Brady, LLP. With more than 450 lawyers practicing from offices in Florida, Illinois, Wisconsin and Arizona, Quarles & Brady is among the 60 largest law firms in the United States. Prior to becoming a Patent Attorney, Glenn gained invaluable experience working as an engineer for Motorola, Inc., both at their Semiconductor Products Sector in Phoenix, Arizona, and their Land Mobile Products Sector in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While at Motorola's Land Mobile Products Sector, Glenn was part of Motorola's Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) group, assisting with the development of cutting edge technology (e.g., printed circuit board processing, integrated circuit (i.e., chip) processing and packaging, and liquid crystal display (LCD) technologies employed in Motorola products. Glenn received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of Miami, and his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Material Science Engineering from the University of Florida. Glenn is licensed to practice in both State and Federal Courts in Florida, as well as before the United States Patent & Trademark Office in Washington, D.C. In addition to his passion for patent and trademark law, Glenn has devoted considerable time to various causes, including involvement with Special Olympics and the C-Different Foundation, an organization pairing sighted athletes with vision-impaired athletes. An avid runner and triathlete in his own right, Glenn has competed in numerous marathons and triathlons, including long-distance Ironman triathlons in 2008 and 2010. He lives in Parkland with his wife Jodi, and children Amy and Josh.

John Rizvi is a founding partner of the firm and has focused his practice exclusively on matters relating to patent, trademark, and copyright law for the past 18 years. He is one of the first group of attorneys ever to be Board Certified by the Florida Bar as an expert in Intellectual Property Law. Certification is the highest level of recognition of the competency and experience of attorneys in the areas of law approved for certification by the Supreme Court of Florida. Additionally, for the past 15 years, he has been an Adjunct Professor at the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Board Law Center where he teaches courses in intellectual property law and is the author and narrator of "Patent Protection: A Practical Guide for Inventors", part of an educational audio series produced to explain the nuances of the patenting process.
