The primary purpose of the Blind Awareness Ribbon (BAR) is to enhance the Blind/Visual Impaired community in the areas of Diversity, Independence, Education, and Communication. The BAR is a soft symbol indicating that the bearer/wearer may require visual assistance in their establishment. Further, the establishment may display the BAR to indicate their welcomed support of their visually impaired consumers.
