Ioana Popa

Ioana Popa has 19 years of experience in the defense and promotion of human rights, equality, social justice and human dignity, with a constant focus on the coordination of communication efforts, data collection and impact assessment. In recent years, she has worked as a researcher on a multinational research mission coordinated by the Center for Reproductive Rights to understand the barriers to accessing sexual and reproductive health services faced by women fleeing conflict in Ukraine, as an evaluator working on both formative continuous evaluation processes and summative evaluations, and as a communications expert in one of Romania's oldest human rights NGOs advocating for freedom of expression, responsible public discourse based on facts and focused on social justice. Ioana is now pursuing a BA in Psychology and is working on her thesis "Mental Wellbeing in Non-Governmental Organizations and the Relation to Compassion and Self-Compassion".

Ionut Codreanu

Ionut Codreanu has more than 18 years of experience in human rights, media literacy & media freedom research and intervention projects, both national and regional activities. Between 2018-2021 he has been the national coordinator for Romania for the European Media Coach Initiative, with responsibilities including adaptation and scaling up of the Dutch Media Coach Program in Behaviour, Romanian context, development and accreditation of a media literacy training program for teachers (200 trained teachers). He is also currently acting, since 2019, as a research coordinator for the Open Code for Hate-Free Communication program, where his role is to document hate speech phenomena and coordinate research activities in transnational context (Estonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Spain).

Louis Ulrich

Louis Ulrich is a trained sociologist with vast experience leading development projects in Central and Western African countries, as well as a history of working and teaching in the human rights field in Europe with a focus on migration. His experience includes several roles with the International Partnership for Human Development (IPHD), Inc. in USDA food and education projects between 2012 and 2017. Before that time, he has spent 4 years as National Manager of the International Organization for Migration's Bucharest Office and held various roles with the Soros Foundation/Open Society Foundation in Romania focusing on the organisation's human rights programmes. Louis has a vast experience in relation to trafficking in human beings, forced labour and abuse, and has participated in drafting national policy documents related to anti-trafficking and human rights. His academic teaching activity has included various positions at the University of Bucharest's Sociology Department as well as tutoring at the University of Lancaster, UK, Department of Applied Social Sciences.
