Dr. Joel Wolfson

Dr. Joel Wolfson is a caring psychiatrist who has been treating patients in Westchester for over 22 years. He attended the Downstate Medical Center Medical School in Brooklyn, New York and did his adult psychiatry training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, as well as an additional year as the Chief Resident in Adult Psychiatry. Dr. Wolfson did his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the Cambridge City Hospital, a teaching center of the Harvard University Medical School. He also received training in family therapy from The Cambridge Family Institute in Massachusetts. Dr. Wolfson is board certified in Adult and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Wolfson has served as clinical instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, which involved supervision of residents in the Child Psychiatry Fellowship. Dr. Wolfson has served as Assistant Medical Director at Four Winds Hospital in Katonah, New York where he was responsible for developing and directing several child and adolescent in-patient units. He served as a consultant to the Mental Health Association of Westchester County. He serves as a consultant to the School Districts of Danbury and Brookfield, Connecticut. This includes the assessment of children and adolescents who are having difficulties in the school setting, and acting as a liason between the family and the school administration and personnel. Dr. Wolfson is a member of the Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Wolfson lives in New Rochelle with his wife and three daughters. He is an avid runner, enjoys music, reading, and spending time with his family in his spare time.
