Ms. Widowski has almost thirty years of experience representing public companies, government agencies, REITs, banks, hospitals, universities, and individuals in New York state and federal courts, including Multi-District Litigation. She has represented the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, in its corporate and receivership capacities, in commercial, banking, and directors' and officers' liability matters, since 1995. She has tried numerous cases to verdict, including several successful verdicts in New York Supreme Court, Bronx and New York Counties. In 2004, she was recognized in the New York Law Journal's "Noteworthy Defense Verdicts." (See NYLJ March 15, 2004). She has successfully defended alleged violations of the federal Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") in federal court. She also has experience in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. She frequently lectures on professional malpractice issues including risk management and E-discovery.

Mr. Valent has tried more than thirty cases, receiving defense jury verdicts in New York, Kings, Bronx, Queens, Suffolk and Nassau counties. Mr. Valent has represented physicians, oral surgeons, dentists, psychologists and hospitals against diverse claims of malpractice and professional liability. He also has extensive litigation experience representing landlords and property owners in the defense of premises liability, Labor Law Section 240, worksite falls, elevator hazards, and building security claims. He has notable defense verdicts in lawsuits against professionals concerning malicious prosecution, retaliatory discharge, and physical assault charges. Mr. Valent has obtained summary judgment in numerous high exposure actions, including a case alleging that failure to provide security led to a murder.

Mr. Widowski concentrates in all aspects of sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, development, finance, workouts, and leasing. He also counsels corporate clients in enterprise risk management, corporate governance, compliance and investigations.
