Andrew Steffens - Managing Director

Andrew Steffens is a Development Director for Wood Partners in Nashville, TN. He is responsible for the acquisition, financing, and development of mixed use and multifamily projects throughout Tennessee and Kentucky. Before joining Wood Partners, Andrew was the Regional Director of Development for Ram Realty Advisors, a private equity development fund based out of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Prior to Ram, Andrew served as the Development Director for Alliance Residential where he opened the local Nashville office for Alliance and delivered just under $200M in class A development. His existing Nashville developments include the award winning 276-unit mixed use community branded Broadstone Germantown, a 330-unit community branded Broadstone 8South, and a 238-unit mixed use community branded Broadstone Gulch. Prior to joining Alliance Residential, Andrew held various roles within a real estate finance group at Citi Bank. Andrew graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee and earned a Masters of Business Administration from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt.

Bart Barrett - Managing Director

Bart Barrett is Director of Wood Partners' Houston office, responsible for overseeing the development, design and financing of construction in Houston and Central Texas. Barrett was instrumental in developing more than 3,400 housing units with a capitalization of more than $500 million as managing director at Alliance Residential Company before he joined Wood Partners in 2014. Before he joined Alliance in 2011, Barrett was a finance and development associate at The Morgan Group. As a lead analyst for Apartment Realty Advisors, Barrett participated in the transaction of more than $900 million and 19,500 units in multifamily sales in Houston, Austin and San Antonio. Barrett worked with The Hanover Company and APS Financial Corporation earlier in his career. Barrett earned both a bachelor's degree in business administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University. He's a member of the Urban Land Institute, Houston Real Estate Council and Houston Apartment Association Developers Committee.

Ben Lazarus - Managing Director

Ben Lazarus joined Wood Partners in 2019 as a Managing Director in the Washington, DC Office. In this role, he manages the sourcing, financing, and development of multifamily communities in Washington, DC and Northern Virginia. Prior to joining Wood Partners, Ben had a successful tenure building a Washington, DC office for Carmel Partners, a San Francisco-based private equity fund. At Carmel, Ben managed the due diligence, investment committee approval, and acquisition of development sites totaling more than 1,800 residential units and approximately 50,000 square feet of retail space. Prior to Carmel, Ben was a Senior Director with MAC Realty Advisors, a boutique Washington, DC-based real estate capital markets advisor with a focus on urban-infill, transit-oriented multifamily transactions. At MAC Realty, Ben led the marketing of joint venture and financing assignments totaling more than 4,200 units and $1 billion in total capitalization as well as investment sales totaling more than 3,800 units. Ben attended Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and graduated with Honors in Political Science. Ben received his MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Ben, a native Washingtonian, is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, the DCBIA, and the Washington, DC Real Estate Group. He has also been a speaker and panelist for events in the Washington, DC area including those sponsored by the DCBIA, Institutional Property Advisors, and the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Bennett Sands - Managing Director

Bennett Sands is a Development Director for Wood Partners responsible for development and finance for new projects and asset management for existing assets in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana. He has developed and financed more than 3,000 multifamily units and 120,000 square feet of commercial space with a total capitalization in excess of $700 million. Before joining Wood Partners, he spent three years working in Investment Banking for Robinson-Humphrey. At Robinson-Humphrey, he worked on both public and private capital raises in several industry groups including retail, telecom and information technology. Sands earned a bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration from Vanderbilt University. He received an MBA with a Real Estate concentration at the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Brian Hansen - CEO

Brian Hansen is a Regional Director of Development with responsibility for Wood Partners' Western region. Hansen joined the company in 2006 and, since then, has been actively involved in the management, origination and financing of more than $1 Billion worth of developments. Before joining Wood Partners, Hansen worked as a Senior Analyst for Analysis Group, an economic consulting firm and, prior to that, was employed at The Federal Reserve in Washington D.C. working as a Research Analyst for the national GDP forecast. Hansen earned his MBA with a concentration in Real Estate from Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina, and his bachelor's degree from Colby College.

Brian J. Ericson

Brian Ericson is the Senior Vice President of Marketing at Wood Residential. Brian and his team are responsible for all property branding, website development and lead generation. His primary focus areas are enhancing tracking and analytics capabilities to quantify and optimize marketing ROI. Before joining Wood, Brian served as a Vice President of Marketing at Cortland, a large national owner-operator. While at Cortland, he was responsible for launching a new website platform for the portfolio and his team led comprehensive programs for customer research and online reputation management. Prior to entering multifamily, Brian worked in loyalty marketing at IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) for 8 years. Outside of work, Brian is an avid traveler and has ventured to all 50 states and over 45 countries. He loves photographing wildlife during his adventures and recently explored Tanzania on a family safari. Closer to home, Brian enjoys hiking at local parks with his kids. Brian earned a bachelor's from Harvard University and an MBA in Marketing from the Kellogg School at Northwestern.

Bryan Borland - Managing Director

Prior to joining Wood Partners in 2010, Borland spent three years in commercial banking with SunTrust Bank and Wachovia Bank. He started his development career in the Washington, D.C. office of Wood Partners before relocating to his home state of Florida in 2013. Ms. Shelby began her career working in corporate finance and project management at the New York City Economic Development Corporation. Ms. Shelby received her MBA from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School, with a concentration in Real Estate Development and Real Estate Finance. She graduated from Fordham University with her BS in Business Administration. Ms. Shelby is a member of the UNC Kenan-Flagler Leonard W. Wood Center for Real Estate Studies Advisory Board, ULI Regional Initiative Council for the Carolinas, and ULI Women's Leadership Initiative Steering Committee for the Triangle.

Carter Siegel - CEO

Carter Siegel is the Regional Director of Development for the East region. Siegel oversees development and finance responsibilities for projects in the South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. Before joining Wood Partners, Siegel worked at Apollo Housing Capital financing affordable and historic tax credit properties. Prior to this position he served as a Development Associate in Trammell Crow Residential's North Florida Division where he participated in developing more than 750 units in Tampa and Orlando. Siegel also previously worked in the Hong Kong and New York offices of Jardine Fleming, a UK based Investment Banking firm. Siegel holds a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Virginia and an MBA degree from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business. Prior to Wood Partners, Richardson's experience includes both development and asset management of market-rate and affordable housing with Cardon Development and Gray Development. Cole Healy

Cole Healy is the Senior Vice President of Client Relations. He directs the growth of Wood Residential's management portfolio and its client services, working strategically with business partners to evaluate new assets, including development, acquisition, and management assumption opportunities. With a decade of multifamily experience, Cole has overseen the management transition of over 10,000 apartment homes, valued at $1.3 billion. He has extensive experience in development and acquisitions underwriting and specializes in identifying opportunities to enhance under-performing stabilized assets. Prior to joining Wood Partners, Cole served as the Director of Business Development for Drucker + Falk, a NMHC Top 50 property manager, and spent 8 years with Blue Ridge Companies, a development and operating company based in NC. Cole's interests include spending time with his wife, two sons, and two dogs, perfecting spice rubs for grilling, fitness programming, and vacationing along the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He is a graduate of Pfeiffer University and holds a real estate license.

Emily Fagan

Emily Fagan is the Chief Administrative Officer of Wood Partners. She is responsible for accounting, human resources and technology. For the first 12 years of her tenure with Wood Partners, Emily served as Chief Accounting Officer and was responsible for the company's accounting and reporting on owned and managed assets. Prior to joining Wood Partners, Emily was the Development Controller of Novare Group, where she was responsible for the accounting on a high-density mixed-use development portfolio of $1.4 billion across the Southeast. Emily began her career in public accounting, working first in the audit practice at Arthur Andersen and then at KPMG. When not working Emily can be found running, hiking, and attending sporting events with her husband and two young sons. Emily is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Georgia and North Carolina and a graduate of Wake Forest University with a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.

Eric Guerrin

Eric Guerrin is a Regional Vice President for Wood Residential. As the Regional Vice President of Operations in Georgia and North Florida, he directly oversees Georgia and provides oversight to one Regional Manager in the Southeast. Eric has over 23 years of experience in the multifamily industry. He has spent the last 12 years in the capacity of portfolio supervisor with a focus in the greater Atlanta area. Eric has extensive experience with lease ups, renovations, repositioning of assets, and dispositions. Prior to joining Wood Residential, Eric served as Regional Manager with Gables Residential for 16 years. Gables Residential is a vertically integrated operating company wholly owned by Clarion Partners, LLC. Eric's other interests include spending time with family and his two dogs, horseback riding, and cruising in the Caribbean. He attended Farmingdale University, has his CAM certification, and is an active member of the Atlanta Apartment Association.

Goldie Bartlett

She is a founding member of Wood Residential, playing a vital role in its growth from 1,600 units under management in 2011 to the current portfolio, exceeding 20,000 units (current and pipeline). During her two-decade career in property management, Goldie has worked with several notable organizations, including Camden Property Trust and Greystar Real Estate Services. She's led operations in highly competitive markets spanning across the Sun Belt, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast regions. Outside of work, Goldie enjoys spending time with her husband and children, reading, drawing, running, and hiking. Her philanthropic pursuits include sponsoring children through a humanitarian advocacy organization and fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Jaren Miller

She oversees the negotiation and management of preferred vendor and supplier partnerships and leads the Regional Facilities team that develops and reinforces best practices in property maintenance operations. She has over 15 years of multifamily experience including management of lease-up and stabilized assets, property acquisitions and dispositions, renovation management and supporting transition of assets from construction to operations. Jillian Kral

Jillian started her multifamily career as a leasing associate with Gables Residential. In 2003, she joined Wood Partners to help convert Wood-owned apartment assets to condominiums and has been with the company ever since. During her tenure she has been involved in sales and marketing and was a regional asset manager for six years. Prior to her current role, Jillian was the Senior Vice President of Operations Support, responsible for daily support and analysis of Wood Residential's national portfolio. Her personal interests include paddle boarding and spending time at the beach with her family. She also enjoys circuit training, hiking, and snowshoeing and has a weakness for margaritas and Mexican food. Joe Hardiman - CTO

As CTO Joe leads the team that is responsible for all aspects of technology and cybersecurity for the organization, including all property management application and hardware support. Joe started with Wood Partners in 2018 and has lead efforts that have positioned the company as a recognized technology leader in multifamily. Joe has over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry and has been leading technology teams for 26 years across several sectors, including multifamily, student housing, and self-storage. Prior to joining Wood Partners, Joe was the Vice President of Technology for Peak Campus, a leading national fee manager of student housing assets. Outside of work, Joe enjoys road trips to the beach with his family and is an avid golfer and tennis enthusiast. Joe graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University.

Joseph Keough - CEO, Chairman

He previously served as the Senior Vice President, Development and Investment Strategy, in the office/multifamily division at Cousins Properties, a publicly-traded REIT. Prior to joining Cousins, he was a Principal at The Boston Consulting Group. Keough earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and received his bachelor's degree in Finance and Economics from Babson College.

Josh Lloyd

As Senior Vice President of Operations, Josh Lloyd oversees property operations for Wood Residential across the western and central US. In his role, Josh applies his performance-oriented mindset to drive portfolio growth and profitability. Previously, Josh spent five years at Holland Residential, where he served as President of Operations, leading the property management, sales, marketing, and business intelligence teams through the company's two most profitable years since inception. Over his 20-plus years in the multifamily industry, Josh has also held leadership roles at AIMCO, The Lewis Group and Concord Management. In addition, he founded and sold Dynamic Staffing Solutions, an employment agency focused on property management. When he's not walking properties and analyzing spreadsheets, Josh enjoys building things, playing drums, and hiking with his family. Josh earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University. He maintains a Certified Property Manager (CPM) license and is a licensed California Real Estate Broker.

Josh Lynch

He specialized in the areas of real estate development and financing. Prior to joining Alston & Bird, Josh was an auditor at Ernst & Young. When Josh is not spending time with his family, he enjoys playing golf. Josh received his B.S. in Accounting and Finance from Florida State University and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University. He is licensed to practice law in Georgia and previously passed the C.P.A. exam.

Julia Wilk - Managing Director

Prior to joining Wood Partners, Wilk worked as a Development Associate for JDT International in Philadelphia and as an Analyst for Arroyo & Co in San Francisco. Wilk began her career as a producer of documentary television and film in New York. Wilk earned her Masters of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning degree from the University of Pennsylvania with a Certificate in Real Estate Design and Development. Kelly Keech

Before joining Wood Residential, Kelly was an operations leader for ConAm Management Corporation. Previously, she was the Director of Operations for Texas at AIMCO, a publicly traded REIT. Originally from Maryland, Kelly ventured overseas to live in Germany and Japan for 6 years before settling into her new "home" state of Texas. Kelly enjoys spending time with her family and traveling with her husband. Kelly earned a Business Management degree and holds both the CAM and CAPS designations with the National Apartment Association.

Kisha Donahue

She leads a team of application support associates, focused on setting up and managing all property software platforms. Kisha has been in the real estate industry for 24 years with experience in both technology implementation and education roles. Prior to Wood Residential, she was most recently the Vice President of IT for AMLI Residential. Mark Theriault - Managing Director

Mark Theriault is the Managing Director of Construction for all of Wood Partners' eastern markets (MA, MD, VA, NC, SC, GA, TN and FL). He is responsible for the design, estimating and construction of all projects within those areas. He previously served as Regional Construction Manager for Wood Partners and has been responsible for all construction projects within the Northeast. Mark is a veteran in multifamily construction with more than 25 years of experience in managing all types of residential construction, including over 12,000 multi-family housing units. He began his career as an assistant project manager with Toll Brothers in 1995. In 1999 he joined JPI, where he worked his way up from assistant superintendent to director of construction for the Northeast. Mark earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts. He has a Construction Supervisor License in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Matt Berry - Managing Director

Matt has been in the multifamily industry since 2000, building both for-sale and rental units including garden style, urban infill, mid-rise, high-rise, adaptive reuse, and mixed use. He joined Wood Partners' Dallas office in 2006, and has been directly involved in the planning, design, estimating, and construction of over 15,000 multifamily units. Prior to Wood Partners, he worked for a commercial general contractor in Atlanta, overseeing projects in the multifamily, retail, and institutional markets. Matt earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Matt Trammell - CFO

Before joining Wood Partners, Michael was a Senior Development Manager for Holland Partner Group, a real estate development firm headquartered in Vancouver, WA. Prior to that, Michael spent six years working in real estate investment banking in Washington, DC and was involved in more than $4 billion in public and private real estate financing and M&A transactions. Michael has a B.S. Degree in Finance from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute in Portland.

Patrick Trask - President

Patrick Trask is President of Wood Partners, currently responsible for overseeing the company's development and construction divisions and for developing new equity and debt capital relationships. Prior to his role as President, Patrick served as Regional Development Director for Wood Partners' Central Region, which consists of Texas, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and Chicago. He serves on Wood's Board of Directors and Investment Committee. Patrick joined Wood Partners in 2001 and opened the Texas offices for Wood Partners. Before joining Wood Partners, he served as a Development Associate in Trammell Crow Residential's North Florida Division, where he was active in their developments in Orlando and Tampa. Prior to graduate school, he worked as a Foreign Exchange Interest Rate Trader with CS First Boston and Morgan Stanley in their New York and London offices. Patrick received an MBA degree at the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School in May 2000. He also earned a bachelor's degree in history from Davidson College in May 1993.

Ritwik Bhatia

Ritwik Bhatia is the Business Intelligence Manager for Wood Partners. Ritwik and his team oversee the development and use of Wood Intelligence, our proprietary Business Intelligence (BI) platform. The platform provides leading analytics and reporting services to the leadership, clients, and partners of both Wood Partners and Wood Residential, as well as to property management teams. Ritwik earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Science degree from The Georgia Institute of Technology. He remains involved with both schools, including serving as an Instructional Associate in statistics at Georgia Tech. Ritwik is also an active member of Urban Land Institute's (ULI) Atlanta Youth Leaders Group. In his free time, Ritwik enjoys rooting for his hometown New York Mets, writing screenplays, and growing his extensive vinyl record collection.

Robert Bonifazi

Robert Bonifazi is the Transitions Director and Regional Operations Manager based in Chicago. He oversees the transition of fee-managed assets into the Wood Residential portfolio. Bob has 25 years of experience in real estate, with 10 years in the commercial office sector and the balance of his career in multifamily. He has extensive experience with acquisitions, transitions, due diligence, major capital expense projects, lease ups, asset repositioning, and dispositions. He has specific expertise in the operations of urban high-rise assets. Prior to joining Wood Residential, Bob served 13 years as Vice President of Operations for Golub and Company, a Chicago-based international real estate developer. Previously, he was a Regional Director focused on condominiums for Lieberman Management Services. Bob also sits on the Board of Directors for South Chicago Parents and Friends, a non-profit agency that supports individuals with developmental disabilities. He attended Loyola University of Chicago and is a member of the Chicagoland Apartment Association.

Ryan Miller - Managing Director

Ryan Miller is the Director for Wood Partners' North Texas development operations and is located in the Dallas office. He is responsible for the development, design, and financing of multifamily construction in the region. Since joining Wood in 2012, Miller has played a key role in the closing of more than 1,300 multifamily units valued in excess of $205 million. Prior to Wood Partners, Miller was a developer with Verde Apartment Communities in Dallas where he developed 1,500 units in the Dallas and Austin areas. Miller began his career in corporate finance before transitioning to real estate as Director of Project Finance for a local single family lot development firm. He also has experience in real estate sales and spent several years in the brokerage industry with The Apartment Group where he was involved in numerous multifamily transactions throughout Texas. Miller has an MBA from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business and also earned his bachelor's degree in business from The University of Texas at Austin.

Sarah Murray

Sarah Murray is a director who handles financial administration. She is responsible for managing the internal financial and tax reporting requirements for the Wood Partners directors, as well as assisting with financial and tax reporting for many of the separate entities involved with Wood Partners-sponsored communities. Providing development partners with tax, financial and legal expertise during loan closings and dispositions makes her a key part of all Wood Partners business transactions. Before joining Wood Partners in 1998, Murray was with Trammell Crow Residential, where as Controller she managed all accounting and reporting functions. Prior to TCR, she spent five years with Arthur Andersen & Company, where she served clients in the real estate, banking, manufacturing and not-for-profit sectors. Murray holds an Accounting degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Scott Zimmerly - CEO

Scott Zimmerly is Regional Director of the Mid-Atlantic region, managing the development and financing for projects in Washington DC, Northern Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania. He has been involved in the sourcing, design, development and financing approximately 5,000 units and $1.3billion in transactional value. Before joining Wood Partners in 2006, Zimmerly spent five years in the investment banking industry in New York and Maryland, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions across a multitude of industries. He also has experience working in the acquisitions department of Washington Real Estate Investment Trust, owner and operator of high-quality office, retail and multi-family assets in the Washington Metro area. Zimmerly received his MBA with a concentration in real estate from the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School. He graduated from Washington and Lee University, with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. An active member of the Urban Land Institute and Real Estate Group (REG), Zimmerly is also a frequent speaker and panelist in the Washington, DC and Baltimore metro region including events sponsored by Bisnow and Marcus and Millichap..

Sean Reynolds - Chief Legal Officer, COO

Prior to joining Wood Partners, Reynolds was a partner with Alston & Bird LLP, and served as counsel to numerous real estate private equity funds, private REITs and real estate sponsors (including Wood Partners). Prior to joining Alston & Bird LLP, Reynolds was a partner with Morris, Manning and Martin, LLP. Reynolds received his J.D. and B.B.A. degrees from the University of Georgia and his M.B.A. from the University of Florida.

Steve F. Hallsey - Managing Director

Steve F. Hallsey is the Managing Director for Wood Residential. As the director of operations, he oversees the management, marketing, leasing, maintenance and accounting for the company's portfolio from coast-to-coast - including Wood Partners' owned assets and a growing third-party management portfolio. Steve has over 38 years of experience in the multifamily industry and serves on the board of directors for NMHC. He is a frequent speaker and panelist at NAA events and other industry meetings and is often quoted in national publications. Prior to joining Wood Partners, Steve was the President and CEO of AMLI Management Company for 14 years. AMLI is a national management company owned by the Prime Property Fund, a real estate fund managed by Morgan Stanley. Previously he served as the Managing Director of Operations for Charles E. Smith, a publicly traded REIT in Washington DC. Steve's other interests include hiking and mountain climbing, writing children's books, wood carving, sculpting, painting, and barbecuing on The Big Green Egg. He is a graduate of the University of Utah.

Timothy E. Bonenberger

Timothy E. Bonenberger is the Vice President and Property Controller for Wood Residential. He manages a dynamic accounting team that strives to produce useful and accurate reporting for the diverse owners and investors of both Wood Partners' owned assets and a growing third-party management portfolio. Prior to joining Wood Partners, Tim gained 15 years of experience in public accounting working as a lead Senior Audit Assurance Manager at CohnReznick and Aprio, with a primary focus on real estate clients. Tim developed and led engagements across multiple asset types, including multifamily, student and senior living. He has experience with all phases of the asset life cycle and has worked with both for-profit and non-profit owners. When Tim is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering as the Board Chair of a local nonprofit supporting education initiatives. He also coordinates a road race fundraiser for this organization. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a master's and bachelor's degree in Accounting and a CPA.

Taylor started with Wood Partners in 2005, and has been involved in the development of over 4,000 units in Arizona and Nevada. Among these deals was Alta Phoenix Lofts, a 332-unit 9-story development, which ranked #1 in the 2009 Best of Phoenix Luxury Apartment list. The 2011 Phoenix Luxe List ranks three of Mr. Taylor's deals among its top eight valley-wide. Phoenix Business Journal ranked Wood Partners Phoenix at #3 for Multifamily Commercial Real Estate Developers in 2015 and 2016. Additionally, Phoenix Business Journal's the Book of Lists ranked Wood Partners Phoenix in the top 10 for Largest Phoenix Area CRE Developers. Taylor's multifamily experience covers a broad spectrum, including market-rate rental, mixed-use, condominium, student housing, age restricted, full-service independent living, and 80/20 affordable bond financed units. Taylor completed his undergraduate studies at California State University Long Beach and holds an MBA (with a concentration in real estate finance) from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. Wendi Cooley

Wendi Cooley is a Regional Vice President of Operations over Arizona, Nevada, California, Oregon and Washington, and provides direct oversight to two Regional Managers. She has more than 23 years of experience in multifamily, starting as an on-site associate. She has developed expertise in generating detailed market analyses, preparing and analyzing budgets, leading expense-reduction and revenue-generation initiatives, and building high-performance teams. Prior to joining Wood Residential, she held operations leadership and training positions with Avenue5, Alliance Residential, and The Allied Group. Wendi grew up in Seattle but is now proud to call Scottsdale, AZ home. She enjoys yoga and learning the piano and is passionate about friends and family. She travels whenever and wherever she can -- the Northern Lights are next on her horizon. She attended Bellevue College in Washington state, has her CAM and CAPS designations, and holds an Arizona real estate broker license.
