POME is a waste water/sludge arising from palm oil production usually released to open ponds. The oil extracted from POME is often referred to as "Palm Sludge Oil" or "Sludge Palm Oil" · Really high content in sulfur and phosphorus... By-product of biodiesel production with glycerol content between 60 and 82%. It can be used by different industries: oleochemistry, biogas, animal feed... Used cooking oil is the most demanded residue by the first and second generation biodiesel plants. It is also highly demanded by refineries that can convert it in HVO.
