Dr. Ornelas-Soares, an AIE advisor, is a serial entrepreneur exploring the intersection of Health Sciences and Technology through Business Entrepreneurship. He is a results-driven international Health and Medical Devices Executive and an entrepreneur with a proven track record in strategy development and implementation, business development, and commercial analyses. He has extensive experience in international settings and in merger & acquisition related issues. He held general management roles at both corporate and business unit levels at top-tier firms and is an experienced CEO for Deep Tech-based start-ups. Dr. Ornelas-Soares advises AIE on effective strategic and operational issues.

He holds an MD and PhD degree in Biophysics, from the Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Iași, Romania. Working for several years as a clinical neurologist, he resigned to follow his dream: to work on AI-based solutions for diagnosis and prognosis as well as optimization and individualization of therapeutic strategies. For this purpose, he founded SAIA in 2004.

With a 30+ years of experience, Mihaela Rus and the Vitrina team have won the confidence of 500+ brands, whose projects were designed and implemented with creativity and professionalism.In 2004, Mihaela Rus founded Cluj Businesswomen Association - Asociatia Femeilor de Afaceri (AFA) Cluj, which later became a member of the national coalition CAFA (Coalitia Asociatiilor Femeilor de Afaceri). The organisation's members are women entrepreneurs, top managers and professionals. AFA Cluj supports business excellence by mentorship programs and business networking, and over the years has developed several educational, social, cultural and community programs. Prof. Dr. George Calin

He is Professor at the Department of Experimental Therapeutics and Co-Director of The RNA Interference and Non-coding RNA Center, at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, USA. Furthermore, he is Professor at the Department of Leukemia, Division of Cancer Medicine, within the same institute. Dr. Calin received both his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at Carol Davila University of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania. Dr. Calin was the first to discover the relationship between microRNA and cancer and published a seminal paper (> 5000 citations) in 2002. He opened and led an entirely new field of research and now is clear that miRNA is causally involved in oncogenesis, and likely to be the most informative molecular category for cancer diagnosis and screening.
