Charissa Botha

Charissa Botha grew up in Elliot. She attended Hoërskool Hangklip and after matriculating she studied fashion designing at the Bloemfontein Fashion Academy. She felt the need to do something more substantial and decided to pursue her interest in Law by studying part-time through the University of South Africa. In January 2020 Charissa joined Bowes McDougall Inc and completed her Articles of Clerkship under the guidance of Mrs Romans. She is currently enrolled at UNISA for a Masters Degree in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure. Charissa was admitted as attorney on the 1st of March 2022.

Danelle Boucher

Danellé Boucher was born in Dordrecht and went to Dordrecht High School until grade 9. She matriculated at Hangklip High School in Queenstown and after matric obtained an LLB degree from the University of the Free State in 2016.

David Thomas

Qualifications: LLB (UOVS) David was born in Queenstown, attended Hoërskool Hangklip from where he matriculated. David obtained his LL.B degree at the University of the Free State and served his articles in Bloemfontein. He relocated to his home town in 2016 and was admitted as an Attorney in the Eastern Cape High Court, Grahamstown on 7 June 2016. During 2018 he joined Bowes McDougall Incorporated and became a Director in March 2019 where he heads the litigation and debt recoveries departments. He is well versed in High Court and Magistrate's Court litigation as well as Criminal Law.

Maryka Romans

Maryka was raised in Queenstown and attended Hangklip Hoërskool where she matriculated. After matriculating she attended the University of the Free State and obtained the following degrees: 1) B.Soc.Sc; and 2) BA Degree Having obtained her degrees and having realized that she would rather become an Attorney she was employed by Bowes, McDougall Incorporated as a legal secretary where she gained experience as a Conveyancing Secretary. In fact Maryka's history with Bowes, McDougall Incorporated goes back many years and in particular to when she was only 16 years old when she was employed, on a part-time basis, as a Receptionist, Typist and Conveyancing Clerk, in her school holidays. Maryka obtained her LL.B Degree at UNISA on 22 May 2015 and she was admitted as an Attorney on 19 January 2016 and as a Conveyancer on 12 April 2016. She has been part of the Conveyancing team all along and is well experienced in this field.

Michiel Johan Bester

Michiel Johan Bester was born in Port Elizabeth and grew up in Jansenville. After matriculating he started as a Clerk in the Department of Justice in the Magistrate's Court in December 1979. He was appointed as a Prosecutor in the Magistrate's Court, Port Elizabeth in June 1987 and as an additional Magistrate in the Magistrate's Court, Escort in April 1990 and transferred to Queenstown in December 1995. He studied part time with the University of South Africa and obtained a B.Proc Degree in January 1994.

Pieter Jacobus Coetzee

Pieter Jacobus Coetzee was born and raised in Queenstown. He attended Queen's College Boys' High School, Queenstown and after matriculating obtained his degrees B.IURUS, LLB, from the University of the Free State, doing his Articles in Bloemfontein with the firm Webbers. He qualified as an attorney on the 4th of October 1990 and as a Conveyancer on the 8th of October 1992. He was employed as a Professional Assistant at Bowes McDougall Incorporated in January 1991 and became a Director in March 1993 and has been in the employ of Bowes Mc Dougall Inc since January 1991. He has a vast experience as a general practitioner and as a conveyancer. Since May 2001 his main focus is on Conveyancing and commercial work. He is fully conversant in English, Afrikaans and Xhosa. He has served on the local schools' respective governing bodies and also served as the Chairman of the Queens College Trust. He is consulted by various members of the public, but essentially businesses now, not only in Queenstown but from the surrounding towns. He was an avid sportsman having played Cricket for many years for the Sandringham Club where he chaired that branch of the club. He was an active Round Tabler and is now still a keen 41-er and generally contributes where he can in the social circles of Queenstown.

Ronel Roux

In 2010 Ronel started her employment at Bowes McDougal Inc. as a secretary to Mr Tony McDougall and began studying Law part-time in 2016 through UNISA, whilst upholding her secretarial position at the firm. Ronel obtained her LL.B degree in October 2019 and completed her Articles of Clerkship under the guidance of Mr Bester. Ronel was admitted as an Attorney on 16 November 2021.

Spokazi Pambuka

Spokazi was raised in Queenstown and attended Queenstown Girls' High School from where she matriculated. She began a career in the Motor Industry where she worked for a few years until she decided to follow her true passion, law. She enrolled for the LLB degree at the University of the Free State, but later altered to the University of South Africa where she completed her degree. During her studies, she worked for various law firms and even had the opportunity to assist/shadow the prominent Free State Advocate, Johan Nel. Spokazi joined BMC in January 2021 as a Candidate Attorney under the direction of Mr Bester.
