Dr. Adam Renberg

Job Titles:
  • Assistant Professor of Theology at Anderson University
Dr. Adam Renberg is an Assistant Professor of Theology at Anderson University and its seminary, Clamp Divinity School. He completed an undergraduate degree in biblical studies and pastoral ministry, and two postgraduate degrees-a master's in theological ethics and a Ph.D. in historical theology-at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. Prior to his full-time appointment to AU, Dr. Renberg served as an associate pastor at Capstone Church, Anderson. Dr. Renberg's research is primarily focused on historical theology, particularly in Christological and Trinitarian debates in the patristic period. He is also interested and dedicated to connecting these historical discussions to contemporary ones in the church and the academy. He is married to another AU faculty member, Dr. Lynneth Miller Renberg, a medieval historian serving in the history department. Together, they have a young daughter, Lilliana, and a dog. They enjoy reading, gardening, and hiking throughout the Upstate.

Dr. Ben Brammer

Dr. Ben Brammer has over 13 years of pastoral ministry experience, serving churches in North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Virginia. He holds a B.S. degree in Biblical Studies from Toccoa Falls College, and an MDiv and PhD from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. His Ph.D. focus was in the field of preaching. Dr. Brammer has a variety of in-depth experience in multisite churches, church-planting, and multicultural churches. He has also taught as an adjunct professor at Oklahoma Baptist University and has served on various committees in several state conventions. He also wrote a devotional book on Jude - The Danger Within. Multicultural communication and the local church, multisite churches, and church planting are some of Dr. Brammer's passions. You can often find him serving in a local church, reading, watching the Baltimore Orioles, spending time with his family. He has two boys, Zachary and Seth.

Dr. Bryan Cribb

A native of Austell, Ga., Dr. Bryan Cribb came to Anderson University in 2010 following a five-year tenure at Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon, Ga. Dr. Cribb holds a BA in political science and a BS in mathematics from Furman University in Greenville, S.C. After being called into the ministry, he received his Master of Divinity in Biblical and Theological Studies and his Doctor of Philosophy from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. His primary emphasis in PhD work was Old Testament theology, with minor areas of study in New Testament theology and Old Testament languages. Dr. Cribb is married to Elizabeth, and they have three sons-Daniel Luther, Josiah John, and Nathanael Bryan. Elizabeth is an RN and certified lactation consultant, who also holds a master of divinity degree from Southern Seminary. He currently serves as the Preaching Pastor at New Prospect Baptist Church in Anderson, SC, and in the past, he has served in several interim and associate pastoral roles.

Dr. Channing Crisler

A native of Lubbock, TX, Channing Crisler holds a BS in History from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX. He received his Master of Divinity in Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX, and his Ph.D. in New Testament Studies from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Dr. Crisler is married to Kelley, and they have five children-Silas, Taylee, Titus, Annalee, and Cross. Kelley is an interpreter for the deaf in Anderson District 5. His primary research interests include Pauline epistles and theology, biblical lament, Lukan Christology, suffering in Early Christianity, and Martin Luther's impact on biblical interpretation.

Dr. Chuck Fuller

Dr. Chuck Fuller serves as Associate Professor of Preaching & Apologetics and Director of the Honors Program at Anderson University. A native of Madisonville, Kentucky, Dr. Fuller came to AU in 2010 following thirteen years in full-time pastoral ministry and one year of teaching adjunctly at Boyce College in Louisville, KY. Dr. Fuller holds a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies from Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, KY. He holds Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. His primary emphasis in Ph.D. work was homiletical theology, with additional studies in philosophy and systematic theology. Dr. Fuller is married to Jessie, and they have two children-a daughter, Kaylen, and a son, Ian. Together, they enjoy hiking, kayaking, and every opportunity to travel.

Dr. J. T. Turner

Dr. J. T. Turner is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Anderson University (SC) and its Clamp Divinity School. He holds degrees in philosophy and theology from Liberty University, Erskine College and Seminary, and the University of Edinburgh (his Ph.D.). Along with a number of peer reviewed journal articles, he has published two books: On the Resurrection of the Dead with Routledge Press and the T&T Clark Handbook of Analytic Theology with T&T Clark/Bloomsbury. Additionally, he's a series editor for Routledge Press's Routledge Studies in Analytic and Systematic Theology series of monographs. He specializes in analytic philosophy, particularly metaphysics, and its intersection with Christian systematic theology. In the academy, this research project is known as analytic theology. Dr. Turner also has a lot of hobbies! He spends maybe too much time watching college football, watching ice hockey, playing golf, and playing Warhammer 40,000 (a table-top war game). He also played ice hockey, once upon a time, having played through his university years as part of the Liberty University men's ice hockey team ('99 - '02). Finally, he's happily married to Bethany Turner with whom he has a son named James and a west highland terrier named Professor Theophilus ("Theo" for short).

Dr. Kegan Shaw

Dr. Kegan Shaw is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Anderson University (SC) and its Clamp Divinity School. Dr. Shaw completed his PhD at The University of Edinburgh, Scotland, under the direction of Prof. Duncan Pritchard, writing on issues in the philosophy of perceptual knowledge. Dr. Shaw has authored numerous articles exploring topics in the philosophy of perception and religious epistemology. These articles have appeared in venues such as Faith and Philosophy, Religious Studies, Synthese, and American Philosophical Quarterly. Dr. Shaw specializes in epistemology and the philosophy of religion. He is married to Amanda, and they have two little boys, Gideon and Leith.

Dr. Kris Barnett

Kristopher Barnett is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity (2001) and a Ph.D. in theology with a concentration in preaching (2008). His dissertation was A Historical/Critical Analysis of Dialogical Preaching. His undergrad work was completed at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas with a B.A. in Communication (1997). Prior to joining the Christian studies faculty at Anderson University, Dr. Barnett served as pastor to three different churches; Forestburg Baptist Church (TX), Ridglea West Baptist Church (TX) and East Pickens Baptist Church (SC). Dr. Barnett is married to Kelly, who is a graduate of ASU with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in psychology. They have four children, Kenzie, Karsen, Kolt, and Kassie. Dr. Barnett currently serves as the Pastor of The Point Church in Anderson, SC.

Dr. R. Lucas Stamps

Dr. R. Lucas Stamps serves as Professor of Christian Theology at Anderson University and the Clamp Divinity School. A native of Alabama, Dr. Stamps is a graduate of Auburn University (B.S. in history) and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div., Ph.D. in systematic theology). Dr. Stamps is one of the founders and directors of the David S. Dockery and Timothy F. George Center for Baptist Renewal, an organization committed to retrieving the resources of the Christian tradition for the sake of contemporary Baptist renewal. He also serves as a fellow for the Research Institute of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission and is a committee member for the Scripture and Doctrine Seminar of the Kirby Laing Centre for Public Theology at Cambridge. His primary research interests include the Trinity, Christology, historical theology, and Baptist history and theology. He and his wife, Josie, live with their five children in Anderson, South Carolina.

Dr. Ryan Neal

Dr. Ryan Neal earned a BA in Political Science from Texas Tech University. He then pursued theological and ministerial training and is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDivBL), and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland (MTh; PhD). He is married to Jennifer, and they have four children. Dr. Neal's teaching and research focuses on the relationship between biblical interpretation and theology. His Ph.D. research focused on systematic theology, specifically questions raised in contemporary German theology. Dr. Neal has presented papers in several academic venues in England, Scotland, New Zealand, and the United States. He presented a paper on eschatology at the University of Notre Dame.

Dr. Sam Totman

Dr. Sam Totman offers more than 10 years of impactful ministry experience combined with a Doctor of Education (2018), a Master of Divinity in Christian Education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (2005), and a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies from North Greenville University (1997). His doctoral research was on the Preparedness and Self-Efficacy Perspectives of Youth Ministers Regarding Technology Integration into Ministry. He also speaks at various conferences, such as The Conclave Conference Southeast, the Call Conference, Ministry University, and the National Conference on Preaching. Sam still enjoys filling in for youth pastors and speaking at youth events and special occasions. Prior to joining the Clamp Divinity School of Christian Ministry and the Christian Studies faculty at Anderson University, Dr. Totman served as a Centrifuge leader (Union University and North Greenville University), Pastor of Students and Education at Flat Springs Baptist Church (NC), Ministry Associate at Fellowship Community Church (SC), and as the Youth Pastor at East Pickens Baptist Church (SC). He grew up in a family-owned sign company, developing skills in design and marketing. After graduating from Southeastern, he started a successful internet business, which allowed him to serve as a minister at a local church plant. Since 2011, Sam has served as the Director of External Relations for the College of Christian Studies and Clamp Divinity School. Dr. Totman is also a professor here at Clamp Divinity School. He has led the way in establishing a Media Ministry concentration within the Divinity School to equip ministry leaders to engage people and transform lives through properly integrating technology in ministry. Additionally, he is strengthening the Christian Education program to help the next generation of ministry leaders become better teachers and preachers. Dr. Totman's unique teaching style uses gamification techniques to address the diverse needs of his students, encourage engagement, increase retention, and make learning complex subjects an enjoyable experience. His latest research interest has been the practical and ethical integration of AI technology in the classroom. Sam is married to Amanda, who is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Master of Library and Information Science, North Greenville University with a B.A. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, and is also on track to achieve her National Board certification this year. She is the media specialist at Honea Path Middle School. They have three children: Naomi, Lael, and Miles.

Dr. Tim McKnight

Dr. Tim McKnight is the Associate Professor of Missions and Youth Ministry and Director of the Global Center for Youth Ministry at Anderson University. He is lead pastor and planter of a new multiethnic church plant, Mosaic Church of Anderson. Tim is also the author of No Better Gospel (2017), Engaging Generation Z (Kregel 2021), and editor of Navigating Youth Ministry (B&H Academic 2022) Tim started in ministry in 1991 and has served churches in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina as youth pastor, associate pastor, and lead pastor. He holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Bluefield College, and a M.Div. and Ph.D. from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. His primary field of study for the Ph.D. was in evangelism, with additional studies in missions and church history. His dissertation was The Theology and Methodology of Evangelism of George Whitefield. He served as a US Army Chaplain in the Kentucky Army National Guard, deploying on Operation Noble Eagle (2001) and Operation Enduring Freedom (2002). He is a recipient of the Kentucky Army National Guard Distinguished Service Medal. He is a husband to Angela, father to Micah, Noah, Karissa, and MaryAnna. The most important thing he would want you to know about himself is that he is a follower of Jesus Christ.

Leroy R. Armstrong

Leroy R. Armstrong, Jr. serves as Executive Director of The Clamp Center for Preaching Excellence. Leroy is a graduate of The University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (1985) and a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a Master of Theology (1993) with a dual concentration in Pastoral Leadership and Christian Education. Leroy is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in preaching at Anderson University Clamp Divinity School. Leroy served as Senior Pastor of three churches. He served Greater Good Hope Baptist Church in Louisville, KY, St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, TX, and The House of Hope Church in Cedar Hill, TX. Additionally, he served as Teaching Pastor at First Baptist Church in McKinney, TX, and as Executive Pastor of Concord Church in Dallas, TX. Leroy was licensed by Metropolitan Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO (1985) and ordained by Concord Church in Dallas, TX (1991). Leroy is passionate about equipping proclaimers to pursue a lifetime of excellence in preaching. He helped found the E. K. Bailey Preaching Conference and served thirteen years in leadership, including five years as the Director and eight years as Chief Consultant to the founder, the late Dr. E. K. Bailey. Leroy is currently Lead Servant of Proclaiming the Word Ministries. He founded PROCLAIM Preaching Coach, which offers nine training modules to strengthen preachers and teachers in pursuing a lifetime of excellence in proclaiming God's Word. Leroy has impacted 5,000+ proclaimers worldwide. Leroy is the author of Disruption: Resetting Your Life's Purpose. Prof. Greg Allgood

Greg Allgood currently serves as Instructor of Christian Studies and Associate Director of Campus Worship at Anderson University. Prior to joining the full time faculty, Greg was the Director of Campus Ministries. He has a passion for ministering to college students and watching them grow in their faith and commitment to Jesus Christ. A 1982 graduate of Anderson, Greg grew up in the upstate of South Carolina. He completed his BA in Communications from Carson-Newman College in 1985 and received his Masters in Communication from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1987. Before coming to Anderson as Church/ College Relations Coordinator in 2000, Greg served for twelve years in two different youth ministry positions. Greg has also served as an Instructor of Speech/Theatre at the University. Greg received the 2005 Star Award, the 2006 President's Award and the SGA Second Mile Award for dedicated service for 2003,2005,2008. Greg and his wife Darlene currently live in Anderson with their two sons Caleb (17) and Joshua (13). They are members of Concord Baptist Church where Greg teaches an adult Bible Study class and serves as a deacon. He is very thankful to God for every blessing and seeks to make every day an opportunity for worship.

Prof. Sherelle Ducksworth

Sherelle Ducksworth is a native of Clarksdale, Mississippi and holds a B.S. in sociology (Mississippi Valley State University), a M.S. in Sociology (Mississippi State University), a M.A. in theology (Mid-America Theological Baptist Seminary) and is currently working on her Ph.D. in Systematic Theology at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS). While at Mississippi State University she wrote a thesis exploring the correlation between gender differences in parenting strategies and sexually risky behaviors. After finishing her MS in sociology, she began her academic career in 2014 as an adjunct professor in Sociology at East Mississippi Community College. She joined the online adjunct faculty team at Holmes Community College in Mississippi in 2016. In 2018 she relocated to Wake Forest, North Carolina to serve as the Full-time sociology instructor at Louisburg College in Louisburg, North Carolina from 2018 until 2022. At Louisburg College she served as the faculty advisor for the Black Student Union. She also served on a number of committees including the student conduct board, faculty senate, retention committee, service learning committee, and faculty handbook committee. Her research interests include theological anthropology, trinitarian theology, and hamartiology. Specifically, she focuses on these three areas and their implications on social and cultural issues. She has written for the Women Around SE Blog, Center for Faith and Culture (SEBTS), North Carolina Baptist Convention, Jude 3 Project, the ERLC, The Exchange with Christianity Today, and churchleaders.com. She has served in youth ministry as a teen bible study teacher and Sunday school teacher, young adult women's ministry leadership team, liturgical dance team, and strategic planning team for the local churches she has been a member of. Sherelle is married to Aaron Ducksworth. They have no children but have 3 nephews, 10 Godchildren, and a number of children that they get to pour into.
