FIA Technology was founded in 2012 by two students from MIT with a mission of social and economic inclusion, livelihood empowerment and poverty alleviation. At MIT, the idea on ‘banking the unbanked' was adjudged runners-up in the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Contest. FIA started its operations in August 2012 to tap the unbanked market in India. FIA rapidly grew to become one of the largest and most respected brands for Business Correspondent Services in the country.
