In addition to doing farm to fiber, Grand Army Farm does Farm to Table. We have a number of very parasite resistant kiko/boer goats. This year, we used both a full kiko boer buck and an angora buck for diversity. The babies will have a cashmere like coat on the angora progeny though they are not true cashmere. Goats are wonderful for debrowsing a property. They maintain the undergrowth by grazing on invasive species like honeysuckle, blackberries, poison ivy and poison oak without ill effect. And they are fun to watch!... At our farm, we aim to select for the best quality Angora goats with excellent fiber density, texture, and parasite resistance... Interested in raising angora goats?
