The flagship varietal of the Santa Barbara, 2021 provided our vineyards with pristine growing conditions. The delicate skins of the Pinot Noir grape enjoyed long sun filled days with mild influence from the coast line just a few miles away. Chosen from some of the best blocks in the valley, this wine coupled with aging in new French oak provides all the nuances one looks for from the Santa Barbara appellation... Ripe black cherry, raspberry and earthy spice meld into savory notes of baked berry pie and fresh strawberry jam. The balanced entry adds in complexity from toasted oak, leading to a broad mid palate of concentrated berry compote. Well resolved tannins are encapsulated in the complex mélange of fruit, leading to a luscious, pleasing finish.
