STANDARDS ACCREDITATION OF KOREA

With regard to standardization, SAK serves as a national secretariat of ITC 207, designated by KATS, a national standard body of Korea for the distribution of information on and deliberation of international standards on Quality Management and Environmental Management. SAK also is a member of national committee for ISO/SATCO(Committee on Conformity Assessment), in which SAK has reviewed and provided inputs of those draft standards being developed by ISO/SATCO... In addition to its participation in international and regional bodies, SAK has maintained a close relationship with other national accreditation bodies. SAK has conducted annual meetings with JAB(Japan) to share experience and exchange information on accreditation system since 2000. As the IAF Cross Frontier Policy has been effective, SAK will enhance cooperation with foreign accreditation bodies to give confidence in certification to the market.
