LETTUCE HARVEST VANCOUVER

In order to pilot this project, we started with community outreach meetings to gain interest and get personal accounts of barriers to engagement. The vision is to provide an extended land matching service - where those with land that are unable to garden create the space for enthusiastic gardeners to learn from mentors and collectively grow food, to be redistributed amongst land owners and gardeners alike. As this vision requires a group of dedicated neighbours, we are working to maintain and grow our community connections, while putting on small workshops and outreach events over 2020... Lettuce Harvest Foundation is a BC registered society. LHF was conceptualized in the Climate Guides 2019 Mentorship Program. Brought together by a love of food and horticulture, the team worked to find an area of need that addressed the intersection of Food Justice, the environmental impact of agriculture, and supporting local community development.
