Currently, microbiology is based on the "culture" step: Test samples (such as blood draws) are incubated with a suitable broth until any bacterium present in the draw has grown to over 10 million copies. The cultured bacteria are then isolated and analyzed. This process is very slow and labor intensive. Our technology eliminates the need for this culture step!... Our tests work directly on the blood draw without the need for any culture steps. To enable this, we have developed a number of component technologies that are packaged into the systems described below.
