WUORION TALO

Originally built for residential purposes, the house truly came to life after modernisations by decorative painter Salomo Wuorio and architect Herman Gesellius. After a renovation completed in 1913, the building became known as the "Wuorio business palace". The building housed Salomo Wuorio's own wallpaper and carpet shop for almost 70 years. From the 1930s, the lower floor of the business palace was also home to The English Tearoom, which was known for its English elegance.
