I have had an extensive career, working in various sectors of sales and business management for 25 years, I have also ran my own restaurant/cocktail bar! Coming up to 4 years ago I finally made the jump in to protecting families and helping the people of South Tyneside and beyond! What I love the most about my job alongside the flexibility is the great satisfaction of knowing how much I have helped a client. I am an experienced and fully qualified Protection Advisor & Will Writer; I like to make the appointment as informal as possible, helping make this process nice and easy, not boring and morbid! I am super passionate about helping families with children who have a disability. My brother Gary has a condition called Angelman Syndrome, so I know first-hand how to protect your estate, making sure your beneficiaries receive what they should, when they should. When I am not helping people write their Wills or advising on their protection policies, I am on the board of Trustees at AnglemanUK, I also enjoy snowboarding, mountain biking, skateboarding and paddle boarding!

As a qualified Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Broker, Andrew prides himself on being able to provide an excellent client experience and always seeks to gain a full understanding of demands and needs before offering fully independent and impartial advice. He is a married man with two grown up daughters and a two-year-old grandson who he dotes on. David Collinge

Job Titles:
  • of SMQ Services Ltd. T / a
My father and I, John Collinge, formed the business back in 1993. Rather than strive for a company with big overheads and a large workforce like John's previous business, our formula was to do the opposite. We steadily built the company over a number of years, utilising new technologies as they became available. We employed people working from home from the start, and we took the business paperless around 2005. Our company is fortunate to have a strong team with decades of experience and all members focussed primarily on customer satisfaction. This is why we still have loyal clients from 1993! Outside of work, exercise and a healthy lifestyle is a big part of my life. From strength and conditioning to mountain biking, I find these activities good for the body and the mind. I'm fortunate to be married to a plant-based chef and naturopath, so our food is always organic and extremely tasty. I also enjoy motorsports and try and get out on my motorbike when I have a spare couple of hours.

John Collinge

Job Titles:
  • Chairman of SMQ Services Ltd T / a
The business was formed by myself and my son David Collinge in 1993 to arrange and manage Private Medical Insurance Schemes providing a personal service to clients in the SME market. The business has grown during the last 28 years and we now cover the country, managing in excess of 1,600 clients. We believe that personal service still has a place in this electronic world and whilst we operate a complex IT system integrated into the insurance providers, we do not operate an automated telephone system as do the vast majority of our competitors so all our clients can speak to a real person when they need information from us. Away from the business I enjoy motor sport and cricket and spending time in my garden, where my wife and I cultivate a wide variety of flowering plants.

I love to travel and can't wait to re-book all of my missed holidays from 2020. Other hobbies also include eating out, watching a good film at the cinema and going to concerts.
