Laura Boo

Laura left Spain seven years ago to begin her journey in the United Kingdom. After moving to Bournemouth, she spent one year studying English. Laura was then awarded a scholarship to be one of fifteen students given the chance to study at the Peter Jones Academy. The course gave Laura the skills and confidence to write detailed business plans, approach suppliers and investors and pitch to a board of investors, Dragons´ Den style…and to meet Peter Jones! Thanks to the skills gained at the academy, Laura launched her own wine importing business, importing wines from Galicia, her community in Spain. Laura joined Hume Whitehead at the beginning of 2018 and has hit the ground running! Her language skills are already proving to be extremely useful with Spanish speaking clients, as she is completely fluent in Spanish, English and Galician! At Hume Whitehead, Laura works on the NH Hotel Group, Visit Indonesia Tourism Officer and Macao Government Tourism Office accounts, while also providing support to other clients.

Lisa Stewart

Lisa has an MA in International Relations from Nottingham University and has since accumulated 10 years' experience as a senior sales and marketing professional within the corporate and MICE markets. In 2004, she joined Firebird in New York City as a Consultant International Director of Sales & Marketing, and in 2007 she became an elected board member of the Jersey Conference Bureau. She has senior sales and marketing experience with hotel groups such as Handpicked Hotels, Le Meridian, Radisson SAS, Intercontinental Hotel Group and Malmaison and for destinations such as New York, Las Vegas and Texas within the MICE industry. At Hume Whitehead she manages MICE sales and marketing for the Berlin Convention Office. You make "any mission impossible - possible" and great, great fun at the same time. Rebecca Pasha

Having worked for several large multi-disciplinary communications agencies Rebecca has extensive experience across a wide range of sectors, managing B2C and B2B campaigns within the travel, leisure, F&B, hospitality, fashion, retail, tech, charity and corporate industries. During her PR career, she has worked with a number of high-profile brands on both a regional and national level providing PR representation and crisis management to the likes of Marks and Spencer, HSBC, Sony, the William Grant Innovation Portfolio, Whistles, Swarovski and The Ivy Collection.

Richard Hume - Founder

Richard's travel industry career began in tour operating, including five years with TUI UK where he achieved record results for the award-winning Magic of Italy programme and successfully launched the Magic Collection. Richard then moved to Tourism Authority of Thailand as UK Director of Marketing and PR, delivering record visitors and receiving several industry awards. Following the tsunami in 2004 he became a regular industry and media spokesperson on crisis management issues. In 2006 Richard joined the Hong Kong Tourism Board as Director, Northern Europe & Middle East, delivering over 600,000 UK visitors to Hong Kong for the first time ever. HKTB was voted Best Asia Pacific Tourist Board in the 2007 British Travel Awards under Richard's stewardship. He co-founded Hume Whitehead with Sue Whitehead in 2007 and is also a Fellow of the Institute of Travel & Tourism

Sandra Kwan

Sandra has almost 15 years of travel industry experience in both a commercial and non-commercial capacity. Her key skills lie in building strong travel trade relationships, brand promotion, marketing, training and events. Her previous experiences include the Travel Channel and Travel Deals Direct, lastminute.com and most recently the Hong Kong Tourism Board. At the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Sandra successfully promoted and increased awareness of Hong Kong as a leisure destination to the travel trade and helped to increase visitor arrivals despite a poor economic climate. She delivered effective joint marketing activities with tour operators, airlines and hotels, conducted Hong Kong training to UK sales teams, organised fam trips, managed and participated in trade events and exhibitions and most importantly built a great rapport with the trade. During her tenure at Travel Deals Direct (TDD), Sandra secured weekly travel offers to promote on air to a wide TV audience - these deals were exclusive to TDD, a similar format to the flash sales as seen online nowadays. At lastminute.com, Sandra led a team of Account Managers to deliver competitive holiday deals to the customer online. She maintained strong relationships with 3rd party holiday suppliers and maximised override income for the organisation.

Sue Whitehead - Founder

Sue has over 25 years' international travel industry experience in both the public and private sectors and is a Fellow of the Institute of Travel & Tourism. Before co-founding Hume Whitehead, Sue was Regional Director Europe, Middle East & Africa for the Hong Kong Tourism Board, achieving a record-breaking 2 million arrivals over a 12 month period. As Marketing Director of two of the UK's largest hotel groups, she ran award-winning communications campaigns and developed major new brands. Whilst with the world-renowned Orient Express organisation, Sue directed the global launch of the Eastern & Oriental Express service in Singapore.
