The Graduate Program in Biophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago is designed to transcend traditional divisional and departmental boundaries for the purpose of training a new generation of scientists who will be skilled in addressing biological problems using quantitative, physical approaches... Our program is unique. Students in the Biophysical Sciences Program select two mentors with disparate expertise from amongst the UChicago faculty and launch an interdisciplinary project between these two research groups. In this way, we enable top students to explore the deep interface between the physical and the biological views of natural science.
