Practice areas David E. Platte has practiced in the Clearwater, Florida area since 1975. On the personal side, David was a two-time first team Academic All-American basketball player at Wartburg. Upon graduation in 1972, he was one of five college division basketball players in the country to receive a post graduate scholarship from the NCAA. Erica F. Augello

Practice Areas Erica focuses her practice on municipal representation and litigation. Erica has also spent her career defending municipalities in litigation ranging from personal injury cases and employment law to complex litigation involving land use, civil rights, and other constitutional issues, as well as code enforcement prosecutions and appeals. Erica has been engaged to assist in drafting legislation for consideration by the State legislature on matters of building and construction codes and enforcement, and continues to be involved in matters of legislative enactments. Erica is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and Board Certified by the Florida Bar in City, County, and Local Government Law. Erica was born in San Diego, California and as a member of a military family, has had the opportunity to live in various areas of the U.S. and abroad. Her travels led her to Auburn, Alabama where she attended Auburn University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing. After college Erica embarked on a career in the financial services industry leading her to ultimately pursue a degree in law. Erica attended Stetson University's College of Law and holds a dual J.D./M.B.A. and a Certificate of Concentration in Advocacy. With a passion for litigation, Erica was fortunate enough to be selected to join Stetson's nationally ranked Mock Trial Team where she was able to hone her skills in the courtroom. In addition, Erica received the Victor O. Whele Award for trial advocacy as well as the Leadership Development Award. While at Stetson, Erica had the opportunity to travel to Scotland with Baylor Law School and further develop her trial advocacy skills at the Academy of the Advocate at St. Andrews with a formidable faculty to include Judge Ken Starr and Federal District Judge Ed Kinkeade. Erica is a member of the Clearwater Bar Association, the St. Pete Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Florida Municipal Attorneys Association, and the Florida Defense Lawyers Association.

Thomas J. Trask joined the firm in 1988 and became partner in 1993 and was the managing partner from 2004 to 2019. Tom is also Board Certified in city, county and local government law. He is currently the City Attorney for the cities of Tarpon Springs, Oldsmar, Madeira Beach and Belleair Bluffs. He also serves as the Code Enforcement Board attorney for the city of Safety Harbor. Tom is currently a Special Magistrate for the Town of Belleair, the Town of Belleair Shores and the Town of Redington Shores Tom is the past president and has been a board member for the past 33 years of Youth and Family Alternatives, Inc., a charitable organization benefiting troubled and underprivileged youth in Florida.
