Dr. Mazdak Arabi

Biography Dr. Mazdak Arabi is the director and founder of Catena Analytics and the One Water Solutions Institute at Colorado State University. His research is primarily focused on development of decision support systems for management of water resources at the watershed scale. To make informed decisions, policy makers should have the tools necessary to identify areas that are most vulnerable to erosion and contaminant transport, and subsequently assess tradeoffs between environmental and economic impacts of management actions. Dr. Arabi has developed and demonstrated optimization-based approaches to facilitate development of watershed management plans that achieve water quality goals at significantly lower costs. He has published analytical and computational methods to support both deterministic and probabilistic evaluation of watershed-scale benefits of best management practices

Dr. Olaf David - CTO

Biography Dr. Olaf David is the Chief Technology Officer for Catena Analytics and founder of the Object Modeling Systems Laboratory (OMSLab). He is also a Research Scientist in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Department of Computer Science at Colorado State University. Since 2000, he has led the design, development, and operation of Object Modeling Systems Laboratory (OMSLab). The OMS framework is used for agro-environmental modeling, and more recently the CSIP model-as-a-service architecture supports deployments for large organizations.

Jack Carlson

Biography Jack is the Program Manager for Catena Analytics and the One Water Solutions Institute. He is also a Senior Research Associate with the Colorado State University Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He worked at several locations for USDA-NRCS as a state and regional plant materials specialist, regional ecological sciences staff leader, national IT project manager and center director, and chief information officer managing the agency business information system portfolio. He currently is engaged with OMS/CSIP model and data service requirements and design for several resource conservation projects, including support to the NRCS Conservation Delivery Streamlining Initiative.

Sarah Millonig - CCO

Biography Sarah is the director of communications for Catena Analytics and the One Water Solutions Institute at Colorado State University. Since 2007, she has assisted with the management, implementation and coordination of several national research centers and CSU programs. Sarah has led outreach and education efforts involving both industry and government stakeholders as well as the general public. She also has a background in anthropology and environmental education. Sarah worked as an archaeologist, park ranger and wilderness guide before joining the CSU community.
