Allen D. Everett

Biography Allen D. Everett, MD is a Professor of Pediatrics and a Pediatric Cardiologist at Johns Hopkins where he is the Director of the Pediatric Proteome Center. Dr. Everett completed his MD at East Tennessee State University School of Medicine in 1984 and Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology training at the University of Virginia where he was faculty from 1991-2003. Since joining the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2003, Dr. Everett has become the program leader at the Johns Hopkins in Pediatric biomarker discovery, initially in sickle cell disease and subsequently in other pediatric clinical conditions (birth injury, congenital heart disease repair, ECMO, prematurity and pulmonary hypertension) and PI or Co-PI on multiple NIH funded R01 studies. Dr. Everett is an author of 137 peer review papers, two book chapters, editor/author of two books on congenital heart disease and Senior Associate Editor for Cardiology in the Young. Dr. Everett is co-developer of PedCath TM cardiac catheterization software with Scientific Software Solutions which has been translated into five languages, has five US pulmonary hypertension and brain injury biomarker patents filed or issued and brain injury biomarkers licensed to ImmunArray, Ltd. Dr. Everett is a fellow of the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, Society for Cardiac Interventions and Angiography, and Society for Pediatric Research.

Biography Amy Webb is a Research Scientist with the Biomedical Informatics Shared Resource group providing bioinformatics analysis to the Ohio State University. She started at OSU in 2011 as a post-doc with Wolfgang Sadee as part of the Pharmacogenomics Research Network to research expression genomics in the brain. She received a PhD from University of North Carolina following work on the genetics of neurodegenerative diseases. In her free time, she enjoys planning vacations and spending time with her cats and 2 young children.

Carmine Dario Vizza

Carmine Dario Vizza, MD, is Associate Professor of Cardiology at the Department of Cardiovascular and Respiratory Disease, and Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Unit at the University of Rome La Sapienza. He is the founder and president of the Italian Pulmonary Hypertension Network (IPHNET) which includes 23 Italian PH centers. Professor Vizza has a large clinical experience in the treatment of pulmonary hypertension, he published widely in the field of pulmonary vascular physiology, pulmonary transplantation and pulmonary hypertension. He participated as principal investigator to several international multicenter randomized study on pulmonary hypertension including ALPHABET, PHAST, EARLY, PHIRST, COMPASS-1, SERAPHIN, AMBITION. He served as a member of the steering committee of the COMPERA registry

Charles Fauvel

Biography Charles Fauvel is a Cardiologist, clinical research fellow at the Ohio State University, Columbus, OH in Prof Benza's team. He is graduated from Rouen University Hospital, France and belongs to the French Pulmonary Hypertension Network. He was recently elected chair of the French young cardiologists' group from the French Society of Cardiology. He is also involved in the Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathies group of the French Society of Cardiology. His primary research interests are advanced heart failure, echocardiography, pulmonary hypertension, and pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Dr Raymond L Benza is Professor of Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA, USA. He is also the James Magovern Chair of Cardiovascular Research at the Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, PA, and Director of the Cardiovascular Research. He directs the Advanced Heart Failure, Pulmonary Hypertension, Transplant, and Mechanical Circulatory Assist Device Program at Allegheny General Hospital, a multifaceted program involving clinical care for patients with advanced heart failure and pulmonary vascular disease as well as basic and clinical research. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American Heart Association Council on Clinical Cardiology, the American College of Chest Physicians and the American College of Cardiology. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine with certification in the subspecialties of cardiovascular diseases and advanced heart failure and transplantation.. His primary clinical interests are the evaluation and treatment of advanced congestive heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and pulmonary arterial hypertension. He participates in major clinical studies of new therapies for the treatment of heart failure, mechanical support, and pulmonary hypertension. Dr Benza is a funded investigator for the National Institutes of Health and the American Heart Association for his work in pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Biography Dr. Manreet Kanwar is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine, PA and faculty for Heart Failure, Pulmonary Hypertension and Transplant Cardiology at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine with certification in the subspecialties of cardiovascular diseases and advanced heart failure and transplantation. She is the medical director of the Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension program at AGH. Manreet is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, where she co-chairs the pulmonary hypertension work group and on the Board of Directors for the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation. Her primary research interests are risk stratification and clinical outcomes analysis in advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support and pulmonary hypertension. Greg Elliot

Greg Elliott, MD is Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine and Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Intermountain Medical Center. Marius M. Hoeper

Marius M. Hoeper, MD, was educated at Hannover Medical School, where he specialised in respiratory medicine and intensive care medicine. In 1992, he received a two-year grant from Germany's National Research Foundation for a post-doc training at the University of Colorado, Denver, USA. After that training had been completed, Professor Hoeper moved back to Hannover Medical School, where he now holds the position of Senior Physician in the Department of Respiratory Medicine. He is in charge of the pulmonary hypertension programme and attending physician of the medical intensive care unit. His main scientific interest lies in the field of pulmonary hypertension, where he has published more than 250 papers. In addition, Professor Hoeper is a member of the editorial board of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, as well as an associate editor with Circulation and the European Respiratory Journal, senior editor with the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation, pulmonary hypertension section editor for The Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC) and Advisory Board member of Lancet Respiratory Medicine. Prof Hoeper has been a task force member at the 3rd World Symposium on Pulmonary Hypertension in Venice (2003), a task force chair at the 4th World Symposium on Pulmonary Hypertension in Dana Point (2008) and at the 5th and 6th World Symposium on Pulmonary Hypertension in Nice (2013 and 2018). He has been an author and section editor of the 2009 European Guidelines for Pulmonary Hypertension. In addition, he is the senior author of the 2015 European Pulmonary Hypertension Guidelines. In 2014, Prof Hoeper received the distinguished Lifetime Achievement in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Award from the European Respiratory Society.

Biography Rebecca R. Vanderpool is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at The Ohio State University. Dr. Vanderpool received her undergraduate degree and her PhD from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. She has been a member of the American Thoracic Society and is currently a member of the Program Committee and chair of the Early Career Working Group Committee. She is also a member of the American Heart Association Council on Cardiopulmonary, Critical Care, Perioperative and Resuscitation (3CPR). In the 3CPR council, Dr. Vanderpool is a member of the Nominating & Awards Committee as well as the Early Career Committee. Dr. Vanderpool's research focuses on three areas: 1) Clinical assessment of the pathophysiology of right ventricular function, 2) Imaging (MRI and CT) based assessments of right ventricle and pulmonary vascular structure and 3) Exercise testing to investigate effect of pulmonary vascular disease on exercise physiology.

Shili Lin

Biography Shili Lin is Professor of Statistics at the Ohio State University. She joined the statistics faculty in 1995. She was the Neyman Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of California at Berkeley from 1993-1995. She has been a member of the Local Scientific Advisory Committee of the Mathematical Biosciences Institute since 2005. She is an active member of and serves the statistical profession in various roles. Currently, she is an Associate Editor of Biometrics, Statistical Applications in Genetics and Molecular Biology, and Statistics in Biosciences. She is also an Editorial Board member of Genetic Epidemiology. She is a standing member of the Biostatistical Methods and Research Design Study Section of the National Institute of Health (NIH). She has been a member of the American Statistical Association (ASA) Committee of Representatives to the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) for the past 6 years. She is currently the President Elect of the Caucus for Women in Statistics. Previously, she served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of the American Statistical Association and the Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference. She was also a standing member of the Genomics, Computational Biology and Technology Study Section of the NIH. In addition, she served as an ad hoc member of multiple grant review panels of the National Science Foundation and special emphasized panels of the NIH. Shili Lin is a Fellow of the ASA (elected in 2004), a Fellow of the AAAS (elected in 2009), and was elected a member of the International Statistics Institute in 2014.
