RED - Key Persons
Alex graduated from the University of Southampton with a BEng in Electromechanical Engineering and an MSc in Management Science & Finance.
Since joining RED in 2009, Alex has worked on a variety of projects within the Data Centre Sector; from the design and implementation of critical infrastructure upgrades in a live environment through to management and design delivery for 100+MW Data Centre Campus'. Alex is a mechanical engineer with a wide range of experience in Data Centre cooling systems and the computational modelling of mission critical infrastructure. Alex is experienced in managing the project delivery for a range of clients; banking sector, co-location and hyperscale across several different geographic locations.
As Head of Engineering, globally for the RED business, Alex oversees RED's Central Engineering Team. The Central Engineering Team is a centre for promoting quality, efficiency & knowledge sharing. Championing engineering excellence throughout the RED business. The aim is to harmonise RED's engineering approach across the globe and improve quality and consistency throughout the business. As well as driving forward new initiatives and investment in research and development. This ensures Engineers at RED are versed in the latest technological advancements and are prepared with the right knowledge, skillset and toolkit to deliver value to our clients as well as maximising the efficiency in the production and delivery of our engineering services.
This has seen Alex working on various projects encompassing innovation and development with a strong focus on communication and collaboration with internal colleagues as well as with external interfaces. The role of the Central Engineering team is key to ensuring the high standard of technical content within the RED design deliverable is maintained.
Carl has over 20 years' experience in the building services industry and has been working in the data centre sector entirely since 2012, working on a range of Colocation and Hyperscale data centre designs across the UK, Ireland, Mainland Europe, The Nordics, The Middle East and South Africa.
Carls's background is from an electrical engineering perspective and has held all positions from electrical CAD draftsperson to his current position as Regional Director. Carl has carried out design and Resident Engineer roles for Data Centre projects and has experience working with large Contractors and suppliers.
Carl's role as Regional Director within RED's Colocation Data Centre team covers design delivery and technical excellence and key account management.

Carolyn is the Human Resources Director for the RED's global business area and reports hierarchically to the CEO of RED.
Over the past 14 years Carolyn has been an advisor to senior leaders across the business' global portfolio, engaging and influencing senior stakeholders to make the right decisions, empowering and enabling teams in driving successful growth through implementation of exemplary business processes and in the acquisition, retention and development of our talent.
Carolyn also reports to the CHRO of Tractebel and is part of the Tractebel HR Community. Contributing to the implementation of HR strategy, employment law governance and policy, talent acquisition and talent development. Carolyn leads and mentors a team of 15 employees across the APAC and EMEA regions.

As an Electrical Engineer, Chris has over 18 years' experience in the design, construction and delivery of major projects ranging from data centres, large scale commercial developments, health care and industrial units, both new build and major refurbishment.
Chris started his career via an electrician's apprenticeship and has built on his experience to design projects sympathetic towards the construction process, successfully delivering projects across Europe and South America.

Darryll is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years' experience in the building services industry and has had substantial involvement in managing major projects covering mission critical, energy transition, hotel, residential, education, industrial, commercial and mixed-use sectors.
An integral part of the APAC management team, Darryll supports the business' continued growth into new regions and sectors across Asia Pacific region. His role sees him contributing towards business development strategies whilst also maintaining responsibility for the initiation, design and coordination of engineering project services.
Darryll has a keen understanding of sustainable design and has taken projects from conception to detailed design on a variety of building services systems incorporating a wide range of innovative and renewable technologies. Recently he has been leading REDs development of Energy Transition consulting services in APAC, helping to drive developments toward carbon neutrality. His experience in multiple RED offices has allowed him to successfully deliver a number of complex projects working with RED teams across different geographies.

David is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years' experience undertaking a variety of different Management and Leadership roles across diverse sectors and geographies within the Built Environment.
Utilising his broad experience of various project typologies including, Aviation, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Commercial and Cultural and Heritage, David assures project delivery is optimised, and valued outcomes achieved for our clients.
David brings added value to any project with his broad understanding and experience in multidisciplinary design including architecture, civil and structural engineering and building services engineering, ensuring each individual component integrates efficiently and seamlessly.
As Managing Director of RED's Built Environment business, David is responsible for the strategic direction of the Built Environment team and its continued strong growth into new sectors and disciplines.

Derek, an accomplished engineer with an impressive 40+ years in mechanical and electrical design and contracting within the construction industry, currently specialises in delivering intricate critical infrastructure designs for Data Centres.
With extensive senior management experience, Derek excels in various projects, encompassing design delivery, design management, and the construction delivery of complex infrastructure ventures. His expertise spans Data Centres, airports, Crossrail stations, major hospitals, stadia, leisure facilities, and high-rise commercial developments. Derek's strategic approach revolves around client management and interface, emphasizing the cultivation of relationships with key clients.
