Annie Hughes

Annie has been with us now since summer 22 working as a casual Playworker during after school and playschemes. A very vocally talented worker we often provide children with the opportunity to sing along with Annie during our Disney, music, rhyming and song themed days. Annie has just finished her A-level exams and will be training to become a primary school teacher from September 23. We are glad she will be commuting and therefore will keep working with us for a while.

Claire Boulton

Job Titles:

Claire is a level 4 qualified and experienced childcare worker who has taken up our post to support management and delivery with early years expertise. Our newest recruit (May 2022) Claire is really enjoying her new role and is settling in and getting know everyone at Scotforth St Paul's School. Claire will be working both after school and during the holiday playschemes and will cover management when needed at both Scotforth and Cockerham Kids' Club.

Donna Ventress

Also known as Mrs Ventress, Donna is a qualified teacher and works full-time in Scotforth School. Donna helps out when available during after school club for ad hoc cover and is contracted to work part-time during our holiday playschemes. Donna has been working with us since 2019.

Lucy Lambert

Lucy came to our rescue at Cockerham school to support staffing during breakfast club. Being a parent of the school, has meant she is able to bring her children with her whenever she is working. Lucy also works as a fully qualified nursery worker in Lancaster and is able to help us with the early years children during after school club at Scotforth ,one day a week and for two days during our holiday playschemes.

Marie Smith - Managing Director

Marie Smith (MD/Childcare Provider)- All enquires- bookings/payment support- 07796569719 email: admin@scotforthplayschemes.co.uk Marie is the owner and sole Director of the Company. Marie also manages the setting with help from a team of qualified and experienced staff. Marie has 23 years experience working in this field of childcare and managed other settings before moving to Scotforth St Paul's School to open the After School Club in September 2010. Degree qualified in Social Science and Level 3 in Youth Work, Marie also has a variety of childcare qualifications including Level 3 Children's Care, learning & development. Over the past 10 years Marie has successfully led teams and developed the setting to an outstanding level of practice , offering excellent quality of care for children and families.

Rebecca Schad

Rebecca started working with us a volunteer in 2021 and then worked with us during 2022 as a permanent playworker while on a gap year after finishing her A-levels. She then went travelling in Australia for 4 months and has now returned working 3 after school days and holiday clubs. Becca will be going to study fashion from September 23 but will be returning during most school holidays to work during playschemes. As Becca's family home is local, we are really pleased we get to keep her working with us for a few years yet!

William Ritchie

William has been working with us since 2019 when he came to work casually during the school holiday playschemes. He then worked as a permanent member of staff during all hours available for over 12 months. He now works every Friday term time and all hours during school holiday playschemes. William enjoys working with children across the primary age group, he is currently training for a PGCE in primary education and plans to take up a teaching post from September 2023

Zoe Gardner

Zoe is currently in her third year teacher training and is level 3 early years qualified. Zoe started working for us in July 2021 during the summer playscheme and has since regularly covered gaps in staffing where needed.
